That would be a welcome surprise, besides who wouldn't like a movie from Preston Surgess and that includes the great Barbara Stanwyck.
Damn it, now I really want them to upgrade the movie.

Not that I wouldn't like it on Criterion.
i just got the OOP UK DVD recently (with the better transfer) , i already would be really happy with someone would do some work on that old master and release it in SD on a bluray. or split it at least on 2 DVDs.

but that DVD is now one of my favorite movies in my whole collection. such a good movie !

Ikiru
would be another amazing kurosawa that deserves a upgrade

Not that awards are an indicator of quality, but Tom Jones did win a slew of honors back when it was released, including the Oscars for Best Picture, Director, Adapted Screenplay and Original Score. In fact, several organizations awarded it their Best Film prizes that year.

I've actually never seen it (the trailer didn't appeal to me, either), but I would probably pick it up as a blind buy, especially if Criterion were to release it on blu-ray.

I'd rather they release the superior (in my view) The Fallen Idol but Studio Canals owns it. Though I won't complain if they release more Reed.

Both are great films. I really hope Fallen Idol makes it's way on to blu.

Since they already released that with Ugetsu I imagine they'll keep it with Ugetsu. Unless they have zero plans to release Ugetsu on blu ray.

I'm guessing we'll get The Soft Skin announced today. I remember Kim saying it'd be out early 2015.

Other hopefuls but unlikely.
Gun Crazy
7th Heaven ()
Mishima: A life in Four Chapters + Patrotism as an extra.
Lady of Musashino
Virgin Spring or the Faith Trilogy
A Taste of Honey

Any of those and The Brood are my most anticipated titles.

With Inherent Vice coming out, I'd love to see a P.T. Anderson movie announced. Sydney (Hard Eight) or Punch-Drunk Love would be fantastic. I'd prefer Sydney.

Punch Drunk Love would be amazing

I'm hoping for The Cook the Thief His Wife & Her Lover, which is probably a long shot. Then again I thought Don't Look Now, Insomnia, and The Vanishing would take patience, yet here we are

I've seen it on TCM and thought it was ok. I found the slapstick speeded-up sequences a little odd. I vaguely remember it being considered naughty when it was first released.
I love Albert Finney but I'd rather see Two For the Road in the Collection.

I would prob give a few years off my life for Youth Of The Beast. Not really but the fact I would even have to think for a few minutes should tell you something lol.
