We, as the collective human race, should just roll them all into one and call it Christivusmakwanzikuh.

Happy holidays, everyone!

Question

Happy Christmas!
I recieved Three Colors Trilogy a few days back.
Thing is, it was given as one of my presents and on the back of the outer box it says "First Printing 2011" - can I return it to Amazon and ask for the 2nd printing with a fixed version of White?
It's still sealed and unopened

Open it - the disc itself might be from the second printing, which would be marked on it.

Last night, after I arrived home from visiting family, I watched my Criterion DVD of Blast of Silence, a 1961 film noir latecomer that takes place during Christmas.

This was my first time revisiting Blast of Silence since the DVD first came out in 2008, and I have a renewed appreciation for the film having finally seen it on a high definition television set. It's a bleak, yet somehow beautiful, black-and-white film that makes perfect use of shadows in the Manhattan setting.

This film conveys the true classic-era film noir bleakness through and through, but it also has a dynamic vibe that showcases its place in a world that was moving forward into the 1960s. There is a rather amazing bongo drum jazz bar sequence that makes me think of the dive in Bell, Book, and Candle (1958), and the second-person narration is still quite striking.

I really wish that Criterion would upgrade Blast of Silence to Blu-ray, because it would look wonderful if it were dusted off for high definition presentability.

i watched "The Vanishing" yesterday and did enjoy the movie alot.
most of the movie is just "good" but everyone adds up to the ending and that will just leave you sitting there for a while with a open mouth

the difference between the Hulu stream and the Bluray is out of this world ! really worth it.

Thank you! I checked closely and although the back of the slip says 2011 First Printing, on the disc itself White says Second Printing, so it should be fine

Anyway, this seller already has the lowest prices I’ve seen for Olive titles. Take an extra $5 and you’re in business.

I’m buying: The Quiet Man, The Pawnbroker, and Force of Evil. I’m out the door for $32.69. Check it out. EBay registered name is buy-dvds-here. If you search for The Quiet Man and sort by cheapest, the first listing is his/hers.

Merry Christmas, everyone!
Thank you so much for the "heads up". I already own copies of The Quiet Man and The Pawnbroker, but went to check out the seller's other titles. They were at such low prices that I emailed the seller to make sure that they weren't cut-outs. She/He assured me they weren't, and so I ordered the three-disc set of 1900, The Sands of Iwo Jima, and The Men for a total of just $31.97.

Much obliged!

Me also. But I got it at the 50% off sale after first seeing it 8 years prior.
