Yeah, I've seen that. It's kinda funny, but not nearly as much as this video which YouTube recommended:

"This week on Siskel and Ebert and the Movies and the ass****. That's Ebert."

God that's classic.

I think that a lot of people forget that Hill also directed The World According to Garp which has yet to be released in the blu-ray format.

I've seen a few of these. I'm surprised Siskel never open-hand b***hslapped him in the back of the head. He could dish it out too, though.

I gotta say, that's pretty mild by pretty much any standard let alone contemporary standards. Hell, Three's Company was more risqué in a lot of ways.
I should clarify by saying that a movie like Design for Living might not fly in contemporary times, because it would either be overly raunchy or overbearingly innocuous. I think that this 1933 film pulls off just the right balance, and that would be tough to do in these times.

Also...

Thanks a lot for putting that Three's Company earworm into my head. Argh.

I wonder what the story is behind Criterion's failure (or inability, as the case may be) to include it on the blu-ray?

No, Harrison Bergeron is crap. It's vastly different from the short story. It angered me when I was watching it.

Mother Night, I'll give you, but BoC, no. That film was an abomination, yet you'd think it would have been a success given the various elements in it. Vonnegut wanted Jack Nicholson instead of Bruce Willis.

These two ladies would like a word with you, as it's personally my favourite GRH film. Criterion needs to release it, as it's criminally underrated.

Oh man, I love this movie too and it would be an excellent addition to Criterion family. The very last segment with Michael Redgrave is the most chilling IMO.

I didn't mind Mother Night. I still have it on dvd around here somewhere.

Now that 2014 is over, I reviewed my film viewing for the year. Does anyone else keep track of what they watch in a year? For me, it's helpful to have a design or goal for movie watching for a year:

[Show spoiler]
My goal for 2014 was to watch 400 films, with the qualification of no more than 10% short films, and no more than 10% re-watches of films. Here's how it turned out:

Total films watched = 419
Short Films = 39 (9.3%)
Re-watches = 31 (7.4%)

Other Stats:
Films Watched on Blu-ray = 284 (67.8%)
Films seen in a theatre = 33 (7.9%)

Films in The Criterion Collection = 94 (22.4%)

Asian Cinema = 144 (34.4%)
Japanese Films = 108 (25.8%, 75% of Asian Cinema)
Korean Films = 14 (3.3%, 9.7% of Asian Cinema)

Most Films by a single director:
Films Directed by Akira Kurosawa = 23

The goal for 2015 is to see any many films as possible from this list: http://explore.bfi.org.uk/sightandso...s/2012/critics

I've already seen 87, so 163 others to seek out this year. Due to availability of some of the films I'll probably have trouble getting to 100%, but somewhere between 90-95% would be nice.

I really feel like it's for Before Sunrise / Before Sunset. I think that's why the suns are on complete opposite sides, since the sun rises in the east, and sets in the west. Two Days, One Night was also mentioned, and probably one of the better candidates for the suns. We know the moon is for sure for Moonrise Kingdom, though it could be for both clues.

It's probably for Before Sunrise / Before Sunset (and possibly the third one if they got a license deal for it too... though it's already on Blu-ray), Two Days, One Night, AND Moonrise Kingdom.

I would not be opposed to Star Wars Criterion Blu-ray editions, though.

I haven't been following this thread too closely over the past few days, but have we gotten any other definitive films out of the clues besides these?

The Brood
The Fisher King
Inside Llewyn Davis
A Master Builder
Moonrise Kingdom
The New World
One-Eyed Jacks

I do know that it's really hope of a box set that is exciting people, but I find some mild humor in "Llewyn Davis is already on Blu, why are they wasting space!!?" Followed by "I really hope Before Midnight comes to Criterion Blu!" When they both have recent and pretty good editions.

As a big Dardennes fan and having never seen the Sunrisw/sunset/midnight films, I hope the clue is for all of the above and I think there is a very good chance for that.
