Sorry I'm bored and messing about lol
No, no -- no need to apologize. That was awesome, and I agree captures the film quite well.

OK, there is ONE reason to apologize: The images of alll of these films that are NOT on Criterion at present are breaking my heart.

You should probably have more to base that on other than a "feeling."

Lol thanks I just don't want to annoy anyone by spamming images everywhere lol - I just wanna share my ideas a little lol

Also do love the image, who the women is just staring and probably judging poor Grace, bless her.

I just feel like its seamless for you.. you have a great eye and good composition. I know it would be difficult for me to conceptualize and design my own Criterion covers. I think you're a natural at it, from what I sense. Just sayin'...

Lol thanks, I also found film covers the hardest to design and can do other stuff better - but I want try get into it more. Cause I have changed jobs from a Graphic Designer to Care work, I don't want to waste my experience and degree... so going to try do as a hobby lol

Plus I love Criterion.

Also I hate the other designs for this film use the image of Grace hidden in the cart... just seems an odd choice of image to use lol

Thanks, I do them in InDesign and some elements in Photoshop, but majority of it is InDesign :P

My main problem is getting decent screen grabs from the films to use which is frustrating! Especially film that are just on DVD without a decent transfer lol

Great work Polaroid! I too would welcome DOGVILLE to the Criterion collection. I'd also vote for MANDERLAY which I felt was even more powerful than DOGVILLE.

Thanks ! I found Manderlay to be a lot weaker than Dogville, but I'm a huge fan of Dogville. But its still superb film and I hope Lars Von Triers finishes the trilogy!

Oooh Criterion could release both as a set

"The Confession" by Costa Gavras (of Z fame in the Criterion Collection)? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065439/

EDIT: And Z is one of those in HD on iTunes from Criterion, so perhaps a double feature for blu?

I've only seen I Confess once and even for Hitchcock it seemed a little melodramatic for my tastes.

That said, his films do have a way of growing on me. That's particularly true for a lot of his earlier stuff. Foreign Correspondent was really the only pre-Rebecca title I really liked the first time around and even that was embrace was qualified.

I've seen a little less than half of Z (I can't remember what interrupted me or why I couldn't get back to it) but that would pretty much be an auto blind buy.

Yes, with the Costa-Gavras interview from a few weeks ago, this is definitely for that.

I'm desperately hoping it's along with an upgrade for Z, and/or a companion release of State of Siege.
