I agree. That was the title I was most looking forward to buying this time around. That being said, I'm kind of glad the sale only lasted 24 hours because I could easily have gone back for more than the 3 titles I ordered. My will power tends to be weak when it comes to Criterion sales.

But actually, visiting Ms. Kuhwald's website just muddied the waters further! For whatever reason, although she proudly exhibits her artwork for other Criterion titles she was involved with (To Be or Not to Be, The Organizer, Amarcord, and Zatoichi - The Blind Swordsman ... and talks about the Criterion Designs book in her blog, she avoids any mention of Heaven Can Wait.

I know the artwork for the latter has received a lot of negative comments from some quarters (including on the Criterion website itself), so I was just curious to know if there were other options that her design might have won out over.
Has she got contact details ons its cause you can email her if not - Other designers have been great in replying to me

Also yeah I found it odd she didn't clue it but I have noticed other designers don't include all their Criterion work - strange.

I just checked my book and nothing in there for Heaven Can Wait - Sorry! She has 4 pieces in the book 'Amarcord' 'Zatoichi' 'The Organiser' and 'To Be and Not to Be' i guess with the book it was down to Criterion what to add, maybe they consulted the designers, I was upset Sam Smith's Alternate designs for Qatsi trilogy weren't included.

Qatsi alternative stuff:

Great blog post on the designing of The Qatsi Trilogy

What are your thoughts on the other films in the Demy set? I really enjoy them all, even the bizarre Donkey Skin.

With less than 2 hours to go, after doing a lot of reading/watching stuff on the Criterion website, I came very close to ordering:

Island of Lost Souls
Beauty and the Beast
Summer Interlude

But ultimately decided to just rent them from my local library instead. Almost 60 bucks for the 3 Criterions I did order is enough money to spend right now (although I know many people participating in this sale would strongly disagree) and there's always July, October and November.

Well the title does sound like it could be a Frank Capra movie, perhaps a sequel to IAWL

I'm not sure if that will help a lot, but it might help a little.
Be great if the dates were written correctly too, yesterday was 10/03/2015

I doubt any of those titles will ever get a standalone blu-ray release (at least from CC), but at least there are region free options for some of them.

I did found The Last Picture Show and Five Easy Pieces on Ebay but only the latter is at a reasonable price.

excited that my order(s) shipped (yes, i broke down and went in for more)!!!

my haul ended up being:

watership down X 2 (ordered one for a friend who only wanted one title)
the sword of doom
in the mood for love
the big chill
y tu mamá también

i have never seen "the sword of doom" but i am a total sucker for a good samurai flick. also, i only slightly remember seeing "watership down" years ago when i was far too young to be watching. similar story with "the big chill," it was one of those titles my parents had on quite often but i never really truly watched. some fun viewing ahead...

i am also set up for my $50 credit next flash sale with 3 purchases. i never thought i would get there. it took me quite a while, and much longer than many here lol...

Should have at least purchased Summer Interlude. One of the best Bergmans.

I made four different orders. They've all shipped except the one with TSS. That's also the one with the most films
