I would love any of the following from Criterion

- Mulholland Drive
- The Cure In Orange
- After Hours
- Amores Parros
- Barton Fink
- The Elephant Man
- Irreversible
- Lost In America
- Sexy Beast (away from TT)

They were offered it, but declined since the MGM disc used most if not all of their extras. They claimed a PQ boost wasn't incentive enough to risk the cost.

As I said, there's a bunch of phantom pages for it all with more-or-less sequential numbering. It was at least planned for a release at some point.

I dunno what they'd do about the extras thing.

The way that I figure it, many theatrical showings of movies probably do not display the movies in the way that was intended by the filmmakers, due to projector lighting, environment, and such, so I won't get my butt in a blender if a movie happens to have a slight color teal on the high definition presentation.

The director's approval for the Criterion Blu-ray of Badlands is good enough for me. I'm also perfectly content with the Criterion Blu-ray of Le Cercle Rouge, although the color timing on the Studiocanal disc is widely considered to be more accurate to the intent of the filmmakers.

I currently own 1006 movies on Blu-ray, and I can count on one hand the number of times when I was underwhelmed by the high definition presentation of a movie. I even have a couple of fingers to spare on that one hand.
No offense at all Owl, but you seem to be pretty easygoing with regards to PQ.

Having a smaller HDTV helps a lot.

Even if I had a massive screen, though, I'd be pretty relaxed about such things.

I've always related to DVD Savant's Blu-ray reviews, if that will tell you something.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Shell's guess of The Set-Up fits better.

Yeah, it's in 4:3, whereas Rocco is in 1.66:1. It might not be the Set-Up (I can't get an exact frame match just skipping around the fight scenes) but unless it's an extra that for some reason is in 4:3 it can't be the Visconti.

I guess I'll post my usual hoping for more Hitchcock titles now. Likely will be disappointed again. This year the Brits are outdoing us here with releases of his films on blu-ray.

OK, and I'll hope for some Orson Welles titles, too. Othello is coming, and I'm hoping the rumor about Chimes at Midnight coming from them is true, too. They also could release The Trial, Mr Arkadin, and the upcoming final film The Other Side of the Wind, too.

And John Huston films, too.

The Set-Up would put a massive smile on my face, because it's a wonderful film noir. It's a Warner title, though, along with Gun Crazy. I wouldn't be surprised to see these released under Warner Archives, just as Out of the Past was.

Well, I'm sure Louise Lasser could provide a very entertaining commentary, and the short film Meetin' WA, in which Allen is interviewed by Jean Luc Godard, would also be cool.

I just want more samurai films. The Brood and After Hours would be great as well.

For me it's just one of those films best viewed in the summer. Another one is Jason and the Argonauts. Saw it at a screening a few summers ago and it was a lot of fun.

The problem with Badlands was the magic hour section was ruined
