So far I've grabbed the following during the current Criterion sale at Barnes and Noble:
The Friends of Eddie Coyle Eraserhead The Vanishing The Killers The Shooting / Ride the Whirlwind I can (if being reasonable, which isn't guaranteed) purchase three more this weekend without completely obliterating my budget. I'm considering the following: Macbeth My Darling Clementine Sword of Doom Cries and Whispers Vengeance is Mine Odd Man Out Any suggestions/opinions? Thanks in advance for any replies. |

I don't see how. There's nothing about it that suggests a film set in WW2.

Also, I saw the following interview from 1979 posted on a TCM related Facebook page, and thought that the Gene Tierney fans in here might like to see it too. (EDIT: If you skip to about the 15:15 mark, she starts talking about Leave Her To Heaven and Laura). Here you go: [Show spoiler]

He is wearing an 18th Century powdered wig and dress, has a fake mole painted onto his left cheek as well as what would seem to be pancake or makeup.......this looks a lot like the aristocratic dude from Barry Lyndon who is an Irish Jacobite gambler and spy serving the French king Louis XV. He rescues Barry and takes him in as his apprentice, and Barry begins dressing like him. It has been a long time since I have seen that movie, but I remember the foppish makeup and wigs. I don't recall if there is a blindfold (did they play a game of some sort?)
