[QUOTE=bwdowiak;11158729]just saw the trailer for this one today, too. it might hold some entertainment value, but the documentary from a few years ago Man on Wire was really good. I'm doubting this can top it. the line he delivers at the 1:05 mark is comically bad.
![]() It's an Oliver Stone "biopic", so many grains of salt will be taken with me to the theater haha I wonder if it does well maybe we'll see Oliver Stone's "Obama" in 2018? Man on Wire was pretty good I agree, you've reminded me I still need to see Citizen Four |

I will investigate the Bioshock game series too. Never heard of that (my gaming days ended when I was about 18 or 19 years old). |

Indeed its a lot of fun (and somewhat expensive) to try and pick up all the OOP Criterion titles. I love searching for items like these and finding bargains or good deals online or offline. Seeing that you are 3 titles away from completing the entire collection, that goes even a step much further as I have no plans of doing that! |

Although he seems like a nice person, I have not seen one Joseph Gordon-Levitt film that I have enjoyed. And yes, I have seen Brick, and I strongly disliked it. |

Is there still a $100 market for Third Man? Have you guys seen this?
![]() I wish I hadn't let my CC Third Man go for such a reasonable price but I honestly didn think there would still be a demand for it now. I forgot about the "die hards" haha If you're looking to get it still, maybe save some money and just buy the case, then put the new resto in it? I get that the point is to have a Criterion collection but kind of crazy when there's a newer disc out that bests it at a fraction of the price |

If you do want to get into Bioshock, Infinite is the one I'd recommend the most. It's a stand-alone story in which you play an ex-Pinkerton agent entering a utopic city in the clouds. The first few minutes has you, the player, disrupt the city's peace and cause all-out havoc (inadvertently). The first game is great too, but has more of a horror/survival type of gameplay to it. |

I recommend the novel The Scarlet Empire (1906) if you're at all interested in dystopian literature. It's rather obscure but incredibly fascinating. It's terrifying and very funny in spots.
John Walker is a young American socialist, active and dedicated. Yet his personal poverty, and the slow progress of his cause, leave him despondent. In a fit of depression he decides on suicide by drowning: he hurls himself off "the long pier...called the Suicides' Promenade" at Coney Island. He loses consciousness—but is revived by a man in a strange diving suit; Walker at first mistakes him for a kind of fish/man. In fact, the man is a surgeon engaged in research; he explains to Walker that they are in Atlantis, at the bottom of the sea, and gives the American a cursory explanation of the nature of Atlantean society. |
