Criterion's pumping out Boyhood? Doesn't a movie have to have some time behind it? Some years pass since its release? I thought that's what Criterion does; makes sure a film holds classic status?

Two years old. So, it seems Criterion no longer waits that long. And I'm sure there are Criterion movies with even shorter release windows.

are you kidding? Criterion's pumping this one out while the iron is hot. it might be a surprise to some that it is coming so soon, but it makes sense from a business standpoint.

given another 12 years (the time it took to make the film) this one will be LONG forgotten. who's going to want it then?

No. They were trying to up the ante from their massive Zatoichi box set released in 2013. This takes the cake!! I'm curious to see how the artwork will be incorporated.

I wonder if any of the OOP Criterions will be included, like Silence of the Lambs.

I heard a rumor that 8MM will be in there. Probably licensed from Sony...I thought Image would get this one, but I guess CC got it first! One of Nic Cage and Joaquin Phoenix's finest!!
