That must have been an amazing class. Im thinking of taking a film class next semester as an elective. I could only hope the film selection would be as amazing as yours.

My Dark Passage will be here Tues as well. I also ordered season 3 of Orange Is the New Black. I bet my packer at Amazon will be really confused at how the same person could enjoy both of those.

I second To Have and Have Not. It's borderline obscene that hasn't been released on blu yet. I'm a huge Bacall fan as well as Bogey.

The way David Ray Harris sits there with a shit-eating grin on his face during practically every minute he's on screen being interviewed is something that always sticks with me.
Yes, agreed. I saw this film just a few months ago for the very first time and I was blown away. It was by far one of the most satisfying blind-buy Criterion purchases I ever made. It's the documentary all others strive to be, but rarely achieve. This is because the filmmaker himself became an integral part of the story he was documenting, which makes it so unique.

Errol Morris is an unbelievable filmmaker. The contrast between Randall Adams and David Harris is interesting and really underscores how people react on first impressions. Adams was this stone-faced, emotionless guy and David Harris was this superficially charming good ol' boy.

I rented the uncut, Swedish version of The Emigrants from Amazon Instant Video last night. The movie hadn't finished before I found myself placing an order for the Blu-ray release.

If I didn't have a compulsion to watch every film released on Blu-ray by The Criterion Collection, I would have merely overlooked this film as another film about coming to America. However, this may very well be my favorite release of the year when everything is all said and done.

When the Blu-ray set is officially released, hopefully someone can upload images close to 1200x1500 so that everything is neat and orderly again.

Ah you beat me to it, seems like they are updating right now, those weren't there a few minutes ago.
[Show spoiler]
Wonder if it is going to be a main release or supplement, seems like an odd choice
.

I really don't want to click those links. But for those who did, are they exciting? Obvious? Surprising? Bland? Dull?
