I watched another first one of a director for me, just like previously with Teshigahara Woman in the Dunes, this time Eric Rohmer's Claire's Knee.

And while at first I thought I might get bored due to the static style, but the heavy dialog driven story got to me after 30 minutes or so, and I ended up loving it, now I am very intrigued by the rest of the titles in that Six Moral Tales release, if only Criterion upgraded their old boxsets more often .

Edit: just noticed there is an English friendly version in France for a good price, just wonder if it is barebones or comes with supplements, hmm now that I think about it if they have they most likely will not be subtitled so it doesn't matter

Is it still with Facets in the US? (I don't even know if they're in business any longer.)

Looks like they have solved the pricing issue with booklets and found a way to include booklets without the huge print costs.

I reckon in a few months all releases will now come in the new size including disc, case etc - not just the booklets... you know, for people with limited shelf space.

Can't wait for the new Zatoichi set to be released with this new format.

There shouldn't be a big difference. The pages had to be folded out to reveal the DVDs in the dual set. I gave away the DVDs a while ago and you can't even tell anything is missing from the set.

What are some of the best dance sequences in film history? Pulp Fiction always comes to mind when John Travolta and Uma Thurman dance. Not including musical.

Hard to think of one that is not from a musical, but I think this one fits but is more of a group thing:

Heaven's Gate:

and there are like two more good dance scenes I believe.

La fée (The Fairy) from 2011, released on Blu-ray by Kino Lorber.

I don't have a video of the dance scenes, but the entire film can be found (albeit in French with Spanish subtitles) at YouTube. Check out the dance scene at 27-30 minutes in, and especially the one at 54-57 minutes in.

Looks great. Thankfully this is being released in the UK so I don't have to worry about it arriving in one piece. My Road Trilogy arrived a bit squished, but Amazon were quick to give me a $20 refund so all's well.

Yah its pretty good Criterion offer replacement items for so cheap, least you can order those parts and not have to worry about loss or the new stuff coming damaged
