Wow that Harakiri one looks so out of place, it almost looks photoshopped. Will have to look out for this and others when viewing these movies.

I see they posted this:

which is one of my most anticipated upgrades.
Summertime will be eye-popping on blu-ray.

Criterion also posted something on Blow-up. Day 1 purchases for both.

So by my count that makes two Criterion movie posters within a movie (the other being Gilda in Mulholland Drive).
There are loads of references like this in the French New Wave films. The film that the Doinel family go and see in The 400 Blows is Jacques Rivette's Paris Belongs To Us, which is also in the collection. This is a particularly funny one as the Rivette film wasn't finished for another two years after The 400 Blows, despite it going into production prior to the Truffaut movie.

There's a moment in A Woman is A Woman where Jean-Paul Belmondo stands at a bar, leans over towards the woman next to him, Jeanne Moreau, and asks "How's Jules & Jim doing?" Jules et Jim didn't come out until a year after A Woman is A Woman.

Ooooh i got one - one of the first scenes in Y Tu Mama Tambien when the Diego Luna character is w his g/f in her bedroom, there is a Harold and Maude poster on the wall.

That's off memory, so it could actually be a different film, but I'm pretty sure its H&M

Here's another one, in Cassavetes' Shadows, there is a poster of A Night To Remember late in the film when the musician is talking to his manager - its like the last scene they are in.

In the same film, Antoine and his friend pull down a photo/poster from Summer With Monika.

Back with another John Waters update...I'm betting for sure this is getting the Criterion treatment.

He's obviously got a really good agent.

I'd prefer The Passenger, but Blow Up is good obviously.

Where have they hinted that it will be released?

13 hours ago Criterion posted a photo of M. Emmet Walsh on their Facebook page captioned "M. Emmet Walsh, sitting down to tell us about one film that changed his career." Looks like Blood Simple should be announced soon.

M. Emmet Walsh has had an incredible career. Pretty unreal the amount of quality films the guy has done and he was almost always memorable. One of the best character actors of all-time.

Not a poster but there's a pretty good one in Chabrol's first film Le beau Serge where François introduces as friend as being called Jacques Rivette, but the person playing the character is actually Phillipe de Broca

I hope so. Probably my most wanted Warner Criterion now that McCabe is coming. Along with Scarecrow. I really hope they release Scarecrow. It's crazy that there isn't a single Al Pacino movie in the Criterion collection. After Hours would be a really nice addition as well.

Then there are a ton of 90s New Line Cinema movies that could be released. Criterion really gained a lot of new titles with this Warner deal. They don't need to have headaches about what to release for a long time now, that's for sure.

I have Blow Up on DVD but haven't touched it yet. Heard the DVD was pretty edited.

Scarecrow would be awesome, I think thats such an underseen gem of a movie. Even more than that though, I'd like to see the directors earlier film Puzzle of a Downfall Child. I feel like both of these deserve a place in the collection, and they are unavailable on Blu. I also need new things to complain about now that McCabe is coming
