I ended up having to reprint the Night and the City image with a border so the frame wouldn't cut off any of the picture.

All in all, not bad for an at-home printer and $3 Walmart frames.
Your welcome and they look great!

All mine are A3 size (approx) and the quality is great so you can go quite big! I didn't go bigger cause of the cost of frames but I did have some A0 sized done in past for a few films and they looked pretty good!

Cria Cuervos

Malle films like Elevator to the Gallows/Fire Within/The Lovers
Thief of Bagdad
Carl Th Dreyer box set
Rosselini's War Trilogy
Knife in the Water

among others.
I would love "This Sporting Life" but the foreign release didn't get high marks for picture quality. Even though a HD master exists doesn't mean the film will meet Criterion's standards. It may be a while

I finally got around to picking up In The Mood For Love (2000) today at the bookstore. I'm only about fifteen years late.

I'm looking forward to diving into it. Judging from the trailer, it always struck me as pontentially my "kind" of film...colorful, sensual, photogenic, lingering...I guess we'll see if it is.

Me too. It's so beautiful. And it's addictive. Every once in a while I pop it in, and then find myself watching it over and over again for a couple days.

Oh, and I was so surprised and totally psyched to see that my Dekalog shipped! I thought I had to wait until November 8th.

Bit of a French thing going on there!

[Show spoiler], I'm reposting it here. For a (mostly) first time viewer, can anyone suggest whether I should watch the 10 films as they were released on television, or if I should jump into the longer, theatrical versions of episodes 5 and 6? Would it perhaps be too jarring a contrast, compared to the work as a whole, or would I benefit from watching those versions, even if it will be my first time watching them? Your suggestions would be most appreciated.
Is it bad of me for saying that I was quite enjoying it? (Well, I was yesterday - maybe it has derailed since...)

Has anybody else had a really nice dream that involved punching Gary Tooze (of DVDbeaver) in the face while he's half way through saying "robust"? Am I all alone in this world?

Beaver isn't exactly Ernest Hemingway.

I'm more of a DVD Savant type of guy myself. I do visit DVDBeaver regularly to check screenshots and to take a cursory glance, but I'm still not over my initial disappointment from years ago when I first visited the site and realized that the site name is false advertising.

I haven't caught that yet from the Tooze, although it seems like a popular sentiment. This is the second time someone has mentioned something like this.

I watched episode 1 last night w/ my wife. just as good.. probably even better on this, my second watch. wife enjoyed it, too.

PQ is great!
I watched 1 & 2 yesterday, both of them lived up all the expectation & more. I am planning to watch 3 & 4 next...Then watch the longer versions for 5 & 6...then 7-10...

Later I will revisit shorter versions of 5 & 6.

It didn't met my high expectations, sadly. It's an eye candy for sure; great visuals, costumes, but story wise I found it a little flat.

It doesn't really matter.

Well, that's probably because it isn't really about story, but, well, mood.

In general I am not a fan of Wong Kar-Wai, although I still need to see his earlier works, I wouldn't mind a CC release of 2046 though, which is the one I've enjoyed the most.

It says here it's owned by Sony, so it seems doable.
