Why? Nothing at all wrong with the Fox release, & just so many extras.

I did read somewhere that Blow-Up (1966) was a Warner owned film coming from Criterion next year. Watch this space.

I'm sure it's a mistake, but I hope they honor it. It's the same price as 50% off with a 20% coupon, which is what I was planning to pay for during the next B&N sale.

Default The Before Trilogy

Men are romantics pretending to be realists. Women are realists pretending to be romantics.

I think the high interest level in The Before Trilogy on this site (Seemingly 95% male) underscores this. Before Midnight
[Show spoiler]also sees Jesse still very much in love with Celine and desperately trying to save their romance. Before Sunrise has Celine teasing Jesse for being Mr. Romantic and wanting to kiss her at just the right time

I know this goes against what is commonly presented in the media and parroted by people but it makes sense to me. Jesse is the romantic and Celine is the realist.

I've never seen the Before Trilogy but I'm definitely considering grabbing that whenever I can get it half price.

Edit:

Just saw this on Amazon for near 60% off MSRP preorder price. Yes please. Bought.

I'm not one of those "everything needs to be remastered in 4K" guys, but something I would honestly love to see is a new transfer for Fanny & Alexander's TV cut. It's deserved a better presentation since it was released and looks notably worse than the Theatrical Cut but it is meant to be the definitive edit.

It will probably never happen but I'd buy it.

The 400 Blows was simply magnificent. Finally finished it this morning, and now I want to watch it again before writing my review. I can't be the only one who saw this for the first time, and then wanted to go back and see it again, immediately, can I?

What could I possibly say about Jean-Pierre Léaud's performance that hasn't already been said? His improvisational skills, at 14 years of age, no less, are jaw dropping. You never feel like he's acting; even though Truffaut let him improvise what he was saying within the context of the script, he's authentic every step of the way. You feel his plight. You empathize with him.

I love that he and Truffaut explored his Antoine Doinel character for another 20 years. It will be interesting to see him grow as an actor, all while gaining more insights into Truffaut's own life.

I wish Amazon would screw up the price for something I actually wanted to buy

My first B&N Criterion sale. I went slightly nuts, because I walked in with only two $25 gift cards (which I spent $40 on during the Family Dollar sale a year ago) and ended up buying a lot more than I expected. I had no gameplan, no wishlist - I just decided to go, browse for the fun of it, and buy what my heart directed me to.

I passed on a couple that looked rewrapped/somewhat unwrapped, was missing the blue dot (does this actually matter?), or had damage.

Art book. I wouldn't pay 15 cents for a calendar, much less 15 dollars.

You can't tell from the pic, but the book is quite weighty and substantial - thick pages, very high quality.

Yeah, it does look quite big. One of my favorite artists. I love his post-impressionistic style, which just has a surreal feel to it. I have a huge framed print of Starry Night from MoMA hanging in my hallway

Any chance I'd like Night Train to Munich if I'm not much of a fan of either The Third Man or Odd Man Out?

Stupid question, but I'm very tempted to pick it up at B&N tomorrow for some reason .

Mine too. I have a huge framed print of Cafe Terrace at Night (AKA Terrace on the Place du Forum). I adore that one!

I hope so, because I liked but didn't love The Third Man.

I think it's a little unusual, you might want to stream it first (Filmstruck free trial?).
