Yes to Death in Venice. Would also add Visconti's The Damned.

I really hope Criterion (or at least WAC) puts out The Philadelphia Story.

I just assumed it would eventually morph into a discussion of the precise definition of "hipster rape".

Just about anything from the early to mid-'30s. Love those little programmers that ran about 70 minutes. Cagney made a lot of them, which he hated, but they're so damn entertaining and they move at the speed of light. Films that had brassy dames like Joan Blondell and/or Glenda Farrell were great and those Busby Berkeley musicals were lots of fun.
My favorite noir-The Breaking Point. A couple of others would be Last Summer (with both cuts) and Summer of '42 (I, and I'm sure countless other guys, left the theater madly in love with Jennifer O'Neill.)

Speaking of Bergman, when was the last time Criterion released something by him? Cries and Whispers early 2015? I'm in dire need of more, especially when Criterion is pretty much the only one in the business showing Bergman the love he deserves. It's pretty crazy how people in the Nordic countries hold him in god-like status, but the only film they've released on blu-ray here is the theatrical version of Fanny & Alexander.
We are in desperate need of his faith trilogy getting a Criterion release. Among others!

They're just going to release a black box with a white C on it.

My facetious nature backfired on me a few days ago on this board. I'm a tongue-in-cheek snobby little b*****d at times so take what I say with a grain of salt. Especially when I'm being all artsy-fartsy like...

There's so many WB, or WB MGM owned, titles I'd love to see get the Criterion treatment. Off the top of my head I'd love to see:

The Naked Spur
Blow-Up (Had the laserdisc of this so now there's hope again.)
Bad Day at Black Rock
The Searchers
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
And the many, many, many film noirs they own, especially the RKO ones, like Crossfire, The Set-Up, On Dangerous Ground...

Europa Europa
Friendly Persuasion
Ryan's Daughter
A Very Long Engagment
The Unbearable Lightness of Being
The Sheltering Sky

All on my most-wanted DVD up-grade list. If these alone came out over the next twelve months it would be a very good year!

FREAKS is my highest Warner Brothers priority.

I'm also assuming they own GREED, but I'm not exactly sure. How that isn't a Criterion yet is baffling.

Probably not much Criterion fare but:
1. After Hours
2. Night Shift
3. 3000 Miles to Graceland
4. City Slickers 2
5. Pacific Heights (if Warner still has rights like the dvd)
6. Judgment Night (now that they have the rights)
7. Young Guns 2 (if Warner still has the rights like the dvd)
8. Forever Young
9. The Hitcher (if Warner still has the rights like the dvd)
10. Ricochet (if Warner still has the rights like the dvd)
11. Lost in America
12. Quick Change
13. Tin Cup
14. With Honors

Yes, they own Greed. I don't know for sure why it isn't a Criterion title yet, but my educated guess is that it's because the film, for all practical purposes, doesn't exist anymore. What currently exists might be the best we can hope for, but it's still a pale shadow of what the film should be.

A good essay about the 1999 reconstruction can be found here.

Far too many to list. A couple of months ago, I posted a (short) list of titles currently owned by Warner that Criterion had released on laserdisc back in the day -- at least not including ones that Warner has released on BD themselves (such as Citizen Kane and Casablanca).

This is (edited) what I wrote then. I think any of these would make great Criterion BD releases.

Adam's Rib
Arsenic and Old Lace
Bad Day at Black Rock
The Magnificent Ambersons
A Night at the Opera
Scaramouche
Show Boat
Swing Time

The version of Show Boat that Criterion released was Universal's 1936 version by James Whale. Ownership of that version came into MGM's hands when it bought the rights to do their 1951 remake, which is why it's under Warner's control now. MGM made a habit of this sort of thing. They also acquired ownership of the 1933 RKO version of Little Women when they remade it in 1949, as well as the 1932 Paramount version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde when they remade it in 1941. Just to name two other examples.

The Magnificent Ambersons, Greed, Freaks, The Crowd, Gun Crazy, and Blow-Up are probably all upcoming Warner licenses. It wouldn't make sense for them to send them to Warner Archive since they're films that really need a scholarly treatment.

The film was originally released by Columbia, but somewhere along the line Warner got their hands on it. They've had it at least since the late 90s, when they released it on LD. I've got two copies on DVD from two different Warner boxed sets from about 10 years ago (Henry Fonda: The Signature Collection and Controversial Classics).

Warner wishlist. Movies I think could have better picture quality or more bonus features, or both:

A Clockwork Orange
After Hours
Altered States
Diner
Her
Sorcerer
Inherent Vice
Risky Business
Natural Born Killers
The Road Warrior
Pink Floyd: The Wall

And of course......Tango & Cash.
