I wholeheartedly agree. I would add his name, along with Luis Buñuel, Theo Angelopoulos, Jacques Becker, Hou Hsiao-hsien, Joseph Losey, Béla Tarr, Roy Andersson, Josef von Sternberg, and Andy Warhol to that list!

Same here, if not just for My Night at Maud's which is one of my favorite French films. Pity there is so few Rohmer in the US.

Definitely one of the best films with Michel Simon. Have the MoC Blu-ray but will double dip for sure.

My final order from the B&N sale came today and I noticed my All That Heaven Allows duel format says DVD 1 and DVD 2. Neither disc says bluray. Is that weird or is that just how this title came. Which is the actual bluray bc I couldn't care less about a DVD lol

I just checked my copy and one disc clearly says Blu-Ray on it, just below the title and The Criterion Collection.

Sounds like some bought two dual packs. Kept both blu-rays and then returned a case that contained 2 DVDs. I guess the only downside is they have no case for the 2nd blu-ray.

The All That Heaven Allows dual format release is a three disc set. Two dvds and one blu.

Nope its empy under the booklet. Guess ill have go switch it out. I would think that title would be easy to come by.

Check B&N's website to determine the closest store that has it in stock, and change your item there.

If it's any consolation I think it probably will at some point. I can't remember the spine but I think this happened before while Criterion had to re-negotiate the licencing or something so it went OOP temporarily and then came back. May need a Criterion historian on this.

Damn that sucks, sorry to hear it. I rarely buy Criterions from BN anymore cause I got sick of returning damaged blu-rays that were clearly re-shrink wrapped. Rip off artists. Only buy direct from the CC now during flash sales.

Just watched All That Heaven Allows a few months ago and I was blown away, amazing film. Hope you get a replacement without hassle.

Well, the entire Rohmer catalog was released on blu years ago in France. I have the set and it's fantastic. So the masters have been around for a while.

You're just as likely to get re-sealed item from an employee reaching into the Alliance warehouse bin to fulfill a Criterion order as a BN (or Deep Discount or FYE or BioaH or Target or Walmart) order

I didn't know that, but I've ordered from Criterion, DD (a lot), and Target numerous times for many different films and I've never received re-shrinkwrapped movies from them. Out of the 4 times I ordered Criterion blu-rays from BN, I received re-wrapped (with some damage) 3 of those times.

Just my experience. I have ordered other label blu-rays from them and did not have that problem, though. Only CCs.

In honor of Jeanne Moreau, The Film Forum in NYC will be screening the new restoration of Elevator to the Gallows again, from August 4-10. Hopefully Criterion will release it soon too, I expected it for like a year now.
