Incorrect -- Arrow's THE APARTMENT is also being released in the U.S.

I'm pretty sure that Mr. Lime said in the Kino thread that "Images" is not with MGM anymore, so my assumption is that it would be negotiated as an individual movie, rather than as some kind of package deal, in which case it seems like it would be win-win for Arrow to release the US version (instead of the production company trying to find a specific distributor for US only). We'll probably know soon enough. My hope is that Arrow does "Images", Criterion does "California Split", and Warner Archive does "Brewster McCloud". That still leaves a few good Altman movies unreleased on Blu, but it would mean that all of his great movies are covered at least.

Yeah, I ALWAYS wait for a price drop or a sale, but in this case I am going to pre-order day one, just to be safe.....

Coppola's Rumble Fish was one of my favorite Criterion releases this year and I'd love to see them issue the underseen and seemingly forgotten Tucker:The Man And His Dream. It really is one of the gems in Coppola's oeuvre IMO, and features a terrific Jeff Bridges performance along with gorgeous period cinematography from the great Vittorio Storaro.

I am a little behind on Criterion news and just saw they were releasing The Breakfast Club. It got me to thinking, what's the deal with Paramount? I think Criterion would do an amazing job with Paper Moon as well as the John Hughes penned Pretty in Pink.

I don't know. Possibly because Scorsese directed both?

Since everyone is doing it here, I decided to post what I like to see from Criterion next year:

-The Truman Show
-Network
-The King and The Mockingbird (with English and French tracks and The Curious Adventures of Mr. Wonderbird)
-Chasing Amy
-The Elephant Man

If there were announcements today shouldn't there be phantom pages added around now?
Hope we don't have to wait till Monday.

I'm desperate enough for that one to say yes. Unfortunately that means absolutely nothing.

Add A Man For All Seasons and Battle For Britain to that list.

I'm really looking forward to Criterion's release of Tom Jones, as I've never seen it. I'll grab that and They Shoot Horses, Don't They? at the same time.

She was also pretty easy on the eyes.
I don't know if you've seen Jerzy Skolimouski's The Shout which besides being a very unique film also shows a side (actually several ) of Susannah not often seen. TCM used to show it in their Underground time slot doubled with another of his films-Deep End. I don't know who has the rights to these but they definitely would fit into the CC nicely IMO.

I need a Chaplin or Lloyd, damn it. It's been way, way, waaaaaaaay too long for either.

Chaplin only has 3-4 releases left (The Circus, A Woman of Paris, A King in New York, The Chaplin Revue and various shorts), so just wrap it up, guys.

No, I haven't seen it, but I will look for it. I scour TCM every week looking for the films showing at the end of the DVR programming guide.

Nice cast, too. John Hurt is one of the most underappreciated actors of the Twentieth Century, if you ask me. And Tim Curry is always fun to watch. Never know what to expect with him.
