Can we make a list of Lionsgate licensed titles from Criterion? The past couple years I haven’t been able to keep up with all the releases so I want to make sure to grab anything I don’t have.

Thanks!

They’re talking about Lionsgates deal with A24.

I just want to know where this info was coming from. I've never heard even a whisper that A24 and Lionsgate were ending their deal.

I just want to see the number "4" and the letter "K" somewhere in the drawing.

Those were the three that came to mind as I was thinking what my favorites were. I've seen a pretty good number of his films, enjoyed most of them.

I just like seeing Almodovar getting at least some attention now. I think he, and Banderas too, for that matter, deserve it. And don't get me wrong: I'm not implying that they haven't had lots of attention in the past. They certainly have. But maybe this film will push both of them, and both of their resumés even higher?

Anyway, that would be nice.

Default Expiring from the Criterion Channel TONIGHT!

Very solid if not spectacular, nothing about I Walk Alone portends that it would be the first of seven pictures Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas would appear in together. Like many from the era, it starts off slowly but picks up toward the latter half. Truth be told, the real highlight here is neither Lancaster nor Douglas but rather the alluring Lizabeth Scott caught between both men.

DaBargainHunta's Decree: I watched the final Lancaster-Douglas film a few years ago - the quintessentially '80s Tough Guys - and now I've seen the first, made four decades earlier. I assume the films in-between are their career highlights. Still, this is a fine and fun introduction to the prolific pairing.
__

Update: According to THIS, it's sticking around in January. While I appreciate last-minute extensions, I wish the Channel would reflect them accurately.

Nothing concrete, saw it here. Would make sense, I doubt the deal is for forever. But for now it’s pure speculation.

Oh, I see. So it's not something set in stone. At this point, I really just want to see Uncut Gems get a Blu-ray somewhat soon. If A24 goes through a transitional period leaving Lionsgate's Blu-ray distribution, it could create a decent delay for the film.

The amount of money it’s made, it’s guaranteed to get a blu release.

Speculation is due to somebody connected with A24's In Fabric saying that it is getting a Criterion release on Twitter.

Since that would've been impossible with the Lionsgate exclusive deal, seems like something bigger is up.

I see. This could be a one off deal and it wasn't a production A24 was involved with from the get go like most of their releases. Either way, I doubt the deal with Lionsgate is over without a bit more warning.

I hope AaronJ doesn't get banned either, but curiosity got the better of me and I looked at the post in question...

Wow, it's wilder than even the most experimental Criterion.

After pulling a Seth Rollins and saying he makes more money than the other guy, he went on a long inspired rant about being able to survive in any hood.

I say this with the utmost admiration. I haven't enjoyed a post as much as this one in a long, long time.

Happy New Year, AaronJ - I hope you're around for many more new years and many more new posts to come!

Full Disclosure: I only read AaronJ's post, not any of the ones before or after it, because I still somehow haven't seen or read any version of Little Women and want to avoid spoilers.

Thank you. And good move not reading the posts, I suppose they will spoil it.

It's a great story though.

If I am correct, I believe last year's New Years Sketch posted just after 12 PM.
