Sorry to hear about that! Been in a similar situation before. Went from 2013-2015 without buying one blu ray due to lean times. Hoping you get back on your feet soon!!

That's a great line-up to choose from. Some Like It Hot, It Happened One Night and Tokyo Story are all top favorites of mine so I'd go for those. (I love Senso too!)

I feel for you. I've been out of work for a while now due to illness, and the number of BD I've purchased has plummeted as a result. My wish lists for Criterion and other labels are longer than ever, and any purchase I make has to be carefully considered.

Do you think Criterion will release a Pedro Almodovar boxed set? I want to buy his 3 available Criterion blu-rays but will hold out if a boxed set will be released.

Those are both great choices. Both are on my list to grab, but since I have the first Blue Velvet release to watch if I need to, it's waiting until probably the next Flash Sale, or B&N. The Silent Film collection is awfully tough to pass on, but my "to watch" pile is ridiculous as it is.

I'm sorry to hear about your job; I hope you find a new one soon, and can join us all the next time Criterion puts on a sale.

As a generalization, Criterion doesn't re-package single releases into boxes. There are some specific exceptions, but I don't think Pedro has quite reached the status of Bergman or Hitchcock quite yet.
