Sure, sometimes you have pitfalls like when you pronounce "L'Argent" like the last name of the former Seattle Seahawks receiver Steve Largent, but having a showpiece Criterion shelf is a great way to lend yourself some fake intellectual heft.
And let's not forget that the Criterion GODZILLA collection is quite the chick magnet.

For an arthouse guy you're surprisingly ignorant of that late film Godard did with Steve Largent.

Oldboy gets re-released, on 4K UHD by Arrow Video. May possibly hint at a Criterion release soon after Tartan Video's OOP Blu-ray.

Joint Securty Area gets released for the first time on Blu-ray, available in the US, UK, and Canada.

I lost a girlfriend years ago when she noticed my Criterion Pink Flamingos laserdisc & Salo dvd on my shelf.

Pretty sure Kino still has the Vengeance trilogy in the US.

It'd be nice if Criterion would get a hold of Atom Egoyan's The Sweet Hereafter. That's a film I desperately want and needs a proper serious release. Might as well throw Exotica in there as well.

They do have those two (and The Adjuster and Calender), as they all are on the Channel and open with the Criterion and Janus logos.

Atom Egoyan did an interview on CriterionCast podcast and mentioned they had those two and more. A bunch of his films showed up on the Criterion Channel.

That's great to know. The Sweet Hereafter has been at the top of my list for a while for a proper blu release if it ever happens. Plus I really enjoy Ian Holm's performance in it.

Actually, I might be wrong here. I just checked Kino's website and Oldboy no longer appears to be on it and Lady Vengeance is only available on DVD. I asked in the Kino thread if they still have Oldboy, so hopefully they answer my question.

Viva la South Korea!

I'm cool if Criterion gets the Vengeance trilogy.
Also I would love to see Park Chan-Wook's early stuff get released. And The Handmaiden, since I just learnt that it's OOP from Sony.
While I'm at it, demanding things, I'd liked to see Kim Jee-Woon's early work too. His pre-Good, Bad, & Weird work is remarkable.

My orders are still showing as in the packaging stage, and I’m not the least bit disappointed.

Do it right. Pack everything with care, and most importantly of all, do it in a manner that keeps the members of Criterion’s fulfillment company safe during this pandemic.

Unfortunately that doesn't stop the morons who deliver the packages from doing stupid things. One of the UPS drivers who delivers to my neighborhood doesn't seem to care about weather protection, so he puts packages in the corner of my porch where they are marginally harder to see and the rain can hit them, rather than right at my doorstep where they're safer from rain and more convenient to pick up.

Got the first of my orders today and in a box. Looks like they upgraded it to Priority for free, thank you CC! (I'm sure they're reading this).

War of the Worlds is on tap tonight if anyone wants to stop by.
