I had a great Criterion Flash Sale experience. Their site was a bit slow, but still functioning. I found 2 $10 off certificates in my Gmail account and I was able to split my purchases into two orders so I could get my $50 loyalty certificate.

Oh yeah I agree. I’ve only ordered from them one time. They had a sale on some Arrow titles last spring and they took about 4 weeks to get my order out. And this order was shipping from Toronto to Toronto. Ridiculous.

Just went to check out the sale on their site and lmao 38 min wait, 1200 people ahead of me. Yeah no thanks. What a joke.

Well, yes and no.

It's not saved anywhere on the site specifically, but if you are 100% sure you're going to use it late you can add it to your acct like an Amazon GC -- though in a sideways fashion.

Add an item to your cart and start checkout, when you get to the payment screen enter the Code in teh Gift Certificate box and APPLY, then cancel/stop the checkout. That should load the $50 Certificate in your acct for later use though even then you'll have to manually apply the certificate to an order during checkout -- it doesn't auto-load the Certificate.

Wim Wenders' "The American Friend" is already sold-out on Criterion.com, and the movie has also been OOS at other retailers like Amazon and Target for months now.

Do you guys think this one is maybe going OOP? Seems to be unavailable just about everywhere now, although it looks like Barnes & Noble maybe still has a few copies in stock. I'm glad I ordered it this morning when I did, but it surprised me to see it sell out so fast, given I don't see many people actually talking about this film. Maybe they only had a few copies left and they're not planning on printing anymore.

I remember having to wait about 4 months from my decision to buy it to actually finding it for a copy of Harakiri simply because every retailer was waiting for a new printing to ship.

It can get frustrating, but at least Criterion does do multiple printings over time.

There's a $10 gift code for Criterion Channel subscribers (not sure if it's everyone, or the charter members).

The $50 gift cert is for hitting the $500 loyalty spend.
