I grabbed World of WKW for $85 and Essential Fellini for ~$105!

$85 for the wkw set is tempting but... no. promised myself i wouldn't get it. already own like half the films on BD and not a fan of the revisions nor the packaging. learning that the subtitles for chungking are a new/different translation was the final nail in the coffin.

Three ordered so far.

Sweet Smell of Success had a $4 coupon which took it below $20 on Amazon, so that's done.

I had a $50 gift card from B&N, so with the coupon code 5SSME2 (thank you to dr727 for the heads up on that), I was able to schedule both The Human Condition and The Red Shoes for pickup at the local B&N for about $47 total.

I'll pick up a fourth from B&N with the last of the gift card and cash when I manage to go (Sunday, probably), and the rest will just happen throughout the month through Amazon. The rest being: Black Narcissus, Mirror, F for Fake, and Bringing Up Baby.

Whoa - sale is live. B&N's not wasting time - don't they usually wait a few days after the first of the month? Anyway, I think it's time to finally upgrade some of my Criterion DVD 'stragglers'. In one of those "why the hell haven't I upgraded this to Blu-ray yet" moments, I added Hausu and Robinson Crusoe On Mars to my cart and now waiting to see if White Dog comes up.

Some prices going back up to 39.99 on B&N. Happy I got a couple orders in beforehand even tho we'll just get the full sale tomorrow probably

Pleasantly surprised Amazon is matching prices without adding the shipping fee to them, hopefully that doesn't change.

So the actual sale has not started then? I looked just now and there's nothing for 50% off at B&N right now. There's titles I want at Amazon, but they aren't what I really want right now.

Early this morning the B&N site I think accidentally started the sale a day early. I & many others got some orders in before they caught on apparently.

I've noticed Amazon has started rolling back some of the reductions. Blood Simple just went from 19.99 to 27 but has a coupon of about 4 dollars off.
