I saw that. And after reading an article about Joseph Cotten last night, I was wondering if we will see a 4K of The Third Man at some point. I know Criterion lost the rights, and assume they are still with SC. But Kino is surprising us with these Criterion-related 4K release announcements of late - so maybe not out of the realm of possibility.

I believe the Third Man is licensed to Lionsgate who put out a crappy blu a number of years ago. I recently bought the British bluray since I now have a region-free bluray player.

The 2015 UK bluray is region free for those looking for an alternative

Maybe it came across a bit too extreme, I'm not overly OCD and certainly am very grateful she does the shopping for me. I think Reddington has put it well in his reply:

That's what I meant in the first place. Apologies, I should have worded it more carefully.

Anyway, I'm happy to report she got me five from my list (and they all look great in the pics, woohoo!). Now all that's left for them is making the trip across the pond.

Left my B&N stop for fashionably late this year (and found out my store had completely re-configured, moving the Criterions to where the albums used to be and moving a huge wall of Manga to where the Criterions used to be, honestly felt my heart drop at first haha).

Great news. There hasn’t been much De Sica activity from Criterion in quite a while.

I am hoping that the continued release of the films like Bruce Lee and OUATIC are inching us towards a John Woo boxed set. Also, what happened to the rumor of the Kurosawa one?

It continues to be naught but rumor.

I want it, though, so I shall keep the rumor alive.

The Film Forum will be showing Powell and Pressburger's I Know Where I'm Going! (1945) from a new 4K restoration. Hopefully a sign that a BD upgrade is coming.

That one's been a long time coming. How long till A Canterbury Tale?

Edit: I won't complain if they release either of these on UHD and I can skip the 2K version One can only dream...

I wonder if we'll see anymore Johnnie To films from Criterion. Would really like to see Election I and II get the treatment as the current US Blu-rays are horrible and I would argue those are his best films.

Couldn't agree more. The whole Triad Trilogy US release is a mess.

Yeah, might be one of the ugliest look Blu-rays in my collection. These films deserve more love here and I could see Criterion making that happen.
