Still no replacements For Pierrot Le Fou to correct the missing green filter, but they are coming hopefully by summer:

"Thank you for reaching out. We do not yet have replacement discs for PIERROT LE FOU but the latest update I've just received is that we will have the updated second pressing Blu-ray discs within the next 2 months. I've added your email to our list so we will follow up with you once we have them on hand and the replacement program is live so we can finalize your request at that time."

I thought the green filter wasn't supposed to be there.

Not that I can see, only Japanese subs. It is streaming on the Criterion Channel (from Criterion) so I do think they'll get to it eventually.

Maybe Criterion could do a 4K release of South Pacific and forget to use the colored filters.

The occasional bad disc doesn't bother me much. I grew up with the original NES console. Starting up a game was never guaranteed.

The difference is that the NES game would eventually start.

If a disc is scratched bad enough, it flat out won't work, ever.

Here is my longshot wish for Criterion...On the Air. With Criterion putting out several David Lynch movies, maybe this short lived series could stand a chance. The fact that it has never been released on Blu or DVD, nor even fully aired on television, I think it could sell pretty well.

10 year anniversary is today. A UHD is obvious at this point.

If Criterion sold posters of that art, I bet it would sell really well. I'd hang it on my wall.

I'd certainly buy the poster for half off during a flash sale.

Depends which half. I like the part with Arnie's sunglasses, but I also like his shotgun.

Honestly, a Kindergarten Cop release from Criterion would probably sell really well for them and they have released films of a similar caliber in the past. Plus, that cover art is really good.

You’re saying this won’t happen from Criterion?

Discs are outdated. Nobody likes playback issues caused by scratches and fingerprints. Should have moved on to cartridges when they introduced UHD. SD card-types similar in form to the Switch games. Far smaller on the shelves, more storage, faster speeds, and less noise, since there are no moving parts. The Blu-ray Association sucks.

Sure if you're prepared for the costs of movies to go way up.

I'm not sure how the 4K remaster has been completed when the remaster for either cut of the film hasn't even started. Also, just because The Digital Bits says it's happening doesn't actually mean that it's happening. Note how they still have Manhunter listed as forthcoming from Kino Lorber, even though the insider for KL has denied on multiple occasions that they even have the rights to the film.
