I'm not sure why you would expect anyone here to actually know the answer to that, but it's most likely going to be BD release only.

2001: A Space Odyssey is sci-fi and the most art house movie ever, so are most film noirs

I love 2001 as much as the next guy but I wouldn’t call it “the MOST art house” lol.

I can believe that such a person exists; what is extraordinary to me is that they would waste their time in a thread dedicated solely to a label they aren't interested in.

Not really. Most of the films that get the “Noir” tag aren’t particularly interesting. Even a lot of the genuinely good ones don’t necessarily have the visual force of something like Out of the Past.

So, does it look like The Long Good Friday Criterion on Blu-ray will be announced on Monday? Surprised they didn't announce this with Mona Lisa.

As someone else pointed out, they have used or referenced it numerous times before and nothing has come out of it. Honestly, at this point I wouldn't read much into it. That being said, who knows? Maybe come Monday it will finally pan out. I know Criterion tends to sit on titles, but this particular/specific title I do not get why they haven't released already. It's baffling when you consider a restoration is ready and done with and has been for some time now. Anyway, who knows? Criterion certainly works in mysterious ways.
The only thing we know for certain is that Summertime is finally coming and I'm ecstatic. Hopefully, it was restored and not some old and ancient master. It would suck to have waited all this time only to end up with a crappy dated master. That being said, unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if that ends up being the case (looking at you Magnficent Obsession).

This past Friday would have been the most perfect time time to announce it, but maybe something happened? Dunno. I do hope it finally gets announced come Monday.

Someone coming into a Criterion thread talking about how much art house sucks is just as obnoxious as people who go into comic book threads and talk about how much comic book movies suck, then name-drop Fellini, Bergman, Tarkovsky, etc.

Criterion rarely announces two upgrade titles for a month, and we know Summertime is coming. The LGF pic was posted just because it was GF it appears. In "Criterion time" Mona Lisa wasn't even released that long ago, I wouldn't expect LGF till at least a year after ML.

To be fair, a comic book thread would be a normal place to talk about how the movies ostensibly based on comic books suck.
