It took a while for "Beasts of No Nation" to happen, plus they still have "Mudbound" and "The Meyerowitz Stories", so the older films of theirs taking longer to get released makes sense. Also given "Parasite" and "Memories of Murder" seemed to be higher priorities for Bong films to be given the treatment, that's probably another reason why. Now if only Criterion and Magnolia started working together and we could get a "Mother" Blu from them.

Wonder how that user finds them. Based on his post, I get the impression he's known how to access such pages well before this.

Did I miss something, but The Meyerowitz Stories has been confirmed to be coming from Criterion? I knew Mudbound, but not this.

If those covers are indeed genuine, I gotta say, those are some solid titles that are coming in July. While Raging Bull is not my favorite Scorsese film, it definitely has a place in the collection. Drive My Car was already expected, but another Bong Joon-Ho film is always welcome. The only thing, though, don’t we have too many black-and-white films getting the 4K UHD treatment as of late? Not that anything is wrong with these titles, they’re all great classics (i.e., Citizen Kane, A Hard Day’s Night, Double Indemnity), but are we not taking full advantage of the 4K color spectrum and gamut in this case? Just a thought.

Should have clarified I presume they have the rights to "The Meyerowitz Stories" since they seem to have all the other major prestige Netflix titles already and it makes sense they'd release another acclaimed Baumbach film.

A little annoyed that Drive My Car isn’t in 4K, but it didn’t get a Japanese UHD so I wasn’t expecting it to be(Japanese licensing/import related). Still a Day 1 purchase.

Someone at CriterionForum said this:

(and we already established that Drive My Car only has a 2K master to begin with)
I believe this is based on Janus Film's Press Notes (PDF) for the film which specifically state the source was 2K:

Yep, I mentioned that earlier. They can be resized to large, medium, and small, just like any other Criterion cover. It's for sure legit.

I have the Raging Bull Blu-Ray and I was not a fan when I saw it for my first and only time on 9/21/2013. I gave the movie 2 stars and the PQ 3.5. So, 4K UHD or not I likely am not buying it.

With that said, I was looking to watch something tonight and, what the heck, I'll give this another shot.

I'm not 4K, yet, as I've said.

I am in for BDs of

Drive My Car
Raging Bull
Okja
Summertime

I already have some nice BDs of The Virgin Suicides and Devil in a Blue Dress so likely won't double dip those.

Still, a solid month, for sure.

Excited for more eyes to be drawn to Devil in a Blue Dress, a terrific movie that’s ripe for reappraisal (even though I already have the Indicator release and will therefore probably pass).

Summertime finally getting revived is a lovely surprise.

I'm still in some disbelief that they're doing four 4K's in a month. I'm sure the fact that it's releasing during the B&N sale has something to do with it, same with Drive My Car. They're going to sell so many titles that first month. I doubt we'll see that level of output that often (perhaps next time again in October or November with one of the Fall sales).

Y'all are clamoring for After Hours and Raging Bull and I'm just sitting here praying that one day Silence gets the jam-packed 4K release it so richly deserves...!
