Perhaps Targets for me since I'm a Karloff fan. However, I've never seen the film, and, based upon the synopsis I just read, I can't say that it sounds appealing to me. This is a case where I'll make it a point first to see the film first before making a decision whether or not to purchase. At least the announcement shows that Criterion is still working on Paramount licenses which hopefully bodes well for The Wedding March.

Yeah I really dig the T&L art. PM looks great too, though I'm not familiar with the film.

I was hoping that when it came time for T&L to get released in 4K, that Scott would have taken the opportunity to regrade it into something closer to the way it looked theatrically, as he did with Alien.
If those caps and the clip on Criterion's site are accurate, he simply dialed the T&O back slightly. But the clear blue skies that the film was full off, and that I loved seeing in the theater, still look mostly leaden and dingy.

Branded to Kill is a cool, stylish film. I'll double dip on the 4k release!

Interested in Targets and the Branded to Kill upgrade at some point - likely during a flash sale.

Still waiting patiently for Spellbound...

Will Wings of Desire get English subtitles or will they mess up with just English SDH like Curzon did?

They have released HDR discs. But it costs extra to do an HDR pass, so they release what's available. IN the case of The Seventh Seal, BFI paid for their own HDR pass, which is why Criterion did not have access to it.

TARGETS is a flat out classic. Right up there with SAINT JACK, which is close to PB's best film. Long very hard to find in dvd, jump on this new Criterion disc. Wow!

Getting all of these, assuming Targets isn't too horror-ish.

Does anyone know how the Criterion distribution rights work? For instance, if Criterion has distributed a DVD of a film from Paramount 20 years ago, and no other distributor has released the film on blu-ray since that time, is it safe to assume Criterion still holds the distribution rights to the film?

Curious if Criterion still has the rights to Trouble in Paradise, which they released on DVD, but haven't released it on blu-ray and it's been about 20 years.

Criterion will wind up laying more staff off unless we see more 1930s 1940s 1950s classics

The Criterion DVD is still in print, so presumably it is with Criterion, as I'm sure Kino would've released it had it been available to them.

Thelma and Louise, Wings of Desire, and Petit Maman are going to be excellent sellers. Targets and Branded to Kill will likely do well, too.

That's on top of the two Gilliams, Romeo and Juliet, Dazed and Confused, The Seventh Seal 4K, Triangle of Sadness, etc.

We're not even halfway into the year's schedule and it's quite strong.

Petite Maman and Targets for sure, probably Thelma & Louise as well. Have Branded to Kill blu and it is fine for me. Fell asleep during Wings of Desire. Damn solid month overall!
