Looking at the screencaps here, the current masters for both Ikiru and Rashoman looked fine to me.

Ignore that. You can get free shipping with a total somewhere between $45 and $50. This is a glitch, which happened with the last flash sale too. Try checking out with just the $49.97 set and it shuld work even.

2023 seems sort of like a glorious last hurrah for my youth.

I've also got a lot of smaller shows this year (Clan of Xymox, Weyes Blood, Skinny Puppy, M83, Hoodoo Gurus, A Flock of Seagulls, Amyl and the Sniffers, Horsegirl, etc.), but the prices are all less than $40 apiece for those.

I remember my first concert, R.E.M. with Pylon, for $18 back in 1989. Lol

I'm finally waving the white flag at my Blu-ray collecting hobby, since my collection is running out of space, since I've already got enough to keep me busy for the rest of my life, and since I'm favoring experiences (concerts, etc.) over physical media post-COVID lockdown. I still buy various things (Vinegar Syndrome subscription, etc.), but I've only been spending a fraction of what I used to spend on movies.

Don't tell Robert Smith that you are going Duran Duran concert as well.

I only buy Criterions at their flash sales now, so I'm dying when they finally hit. My wishlist was prepped yesterday and by shortly after noon, I had everything ordered. Two orders (I qualified for the $50 certificate with the first order, which helped on the second).

Sale isn't even over, but my first order is already shipped.

(Two hours later: The SECOND shipped! Guess I'll have movie to watch til the Fall)

I've gone with DiabolikDVD for my Pasolini 101 set, after all.

They have it listed at 176.99, (its MSRP is 249.98) and Amazon currently has it at 199.99.

I also did a Pay in Four through DiabolikDVD, so it will only be 45 every two weeks for a couple of months, and it'll be paid off by May 6. The set releases on June 27, and DiabolikDVD often ships domestic releases a little early. So, I should have it paid for and in hand by the release date.

Can't wait to dig into it. Most excited I've been for a Criterion release in quite some time.

Also, I have an Amazon order out for delivery right now, that has "Inland Empire" in it (as well as Shout's "Critical Condition" and "Crazy People", and Paramount's "Dragonslayer").

I also have another DVD out for delivery that I had to get through 'those' means, as it isn't available anywhere, really. But it's a 1968 anthology Italian movie, called, "Caprice All'Italiana", with 6 short stories by six different directors. It features a rare Pasolini short, that's NOT in the upcoming set.
