I feel like it could fall in the “anti rom-com” it feels like a rom-com but with more drama.
He also played Bob Cobb…..excuse me, Maestro!

You know, the thing is, I share things all the time, too, but I actually SAY, "Some guy on the blu ray forums posted this and I thought it was so funny and I just thought I'd share this..." Or I'll actually name the person if I know their name.

But.....

Exactly, nothing wrong with reposting something, but give attribution.

Ciccio found one for me! Only 2 million lira. Such a deal!

I have to say that other than the Maestro, the only thing I remember about Chilly Scenes of Winter was that it featured Gloria Grahame near the end of her career.

New release of Red River coming out on June 20th. Almost certainly without the novel this time, possibly in a plastic case too

https://www.importcds.com/red-river-...n/715515285117

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C2J59Y6D...ect=1&sr=1-357

I noticed Criterion has already dropped the paperback wording from their list of extras on their site:

Old

Quote:
2K digital restoration of the rarely presented original theatrical release version, the preferred cut of director Howard Hawks, with uncompressed monaural soundtrack on the Blu-ray
2K digital restoration of the longer, prerelease version of Red River, with uncompressed monaural soundtrack on the Blu-ray
Interview from 2014 with filmmaker Peter Bogdanovich about Red River and the two versions
Interview from 2014 with critic Molly Haskell about Hawks and Red River
Interview from 2014 with film scholar Lee Clark Mitchell about the western genre
Audio excerpts from a 1972 conversation between Hawks and Bogdanovich
Audio excerpts from a 1970 interview with novelist and screenwriter Borden Chase
Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of Red River from 1949, featuring John Wayne, Joanne Dru, and Walter Brennan
Trailer
English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing
PLUS: An essay by critic Geoffrey O’Brien and, for the Blu-ray edition, a 1991 interview with Hawks’s longtime editor Christian Nyby and a paperback edition of Chase’s original novel

July predictions/wishes/hopes/dreams

Floating Weeds
The Princess Bride 4K
The Heroic Trio / Executioners (or other multi-film set)
CODA 4K
Isle of Dogs 4K
The 400 Blows 4K (and/or Antoine Doinel set)

Last July, they released four 4K titles, and 2 Blu-rays, so I'm expecting a big month again (surely timed for the bi-annual B&N sales)

It would be a fantastic month if you get it right, but I'll keep doing the same thing I do every month since January 2010: hope for a "Z" (1969) blu-ray upgrade...

So the old one used a 4K master of the theatrical cut, while the new one will use a 2K master?

No, I think the 4K wording was just an error when it was first announced. I was using the list of extras from the dedicated thread for the movie, but Criterion did update it on their site since, so I'll change that part of post to avoid confusion. The back cover, and booklet for the previous releases also say 2K:

[Show spoiler]
