I think Kwaidan recently was restored by Toho, so I could definitely see that one get upgraded to UHD, but probably after Toho releases it in Japan.

Saw some “insider” say that Alice was coming to UHD with criterion soon a couple weeks ago. Feels like a November release to me

The Color of Money has disappeared from Disney + here in the UK. Very strange.

I don’t really trust “insiders”, but people have been speculating about it online for years.

This is from ten days ago.

Three upcoming (or whenever they're going to find time to release them...) Criterion titles are: Deliverance, Point Blank and Scorsese's Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore. Don't ask me how I found out. x

I generally don't 100% buy in on people that haven't already proved they aren't lying, but I will say that person said a title (not Alice) that I had confirmed by someone I do trust and I have some reasons (can't share) to think that Alice is actually in the works, so I'm buying that post as being accurate.

I must be the only person who didn't care for the "remake".

I just thought it was okay. I liked the visuals, and would be interested in seeing the B&W version for curiosity's sake, but the original is a much better film.

The new Nightmare Alley release will surely include the B&W version ("Vision in Darkness and Light"). Love the movie (my favorite from del Toro), glad other fans will get what they want, but I'm perfectly happy with my color 4K.

The new B&W version of the remake is also a different cut of the film. I don't know what the differences are, but it is different.

You could see it as Del Toro's minor effort. But man, I really dug it. It's slow but I loved the methodical pace and you can tell he was having a good time.

Would have been the absolute most obvious pick for spine #1138, but I'm going to guess Criterion was told they couldn't include the original version under any circumstances.

I would love Gangs of New York 4K and Silence 4K from Criterion.

Also waiting on the Criterion version of Throne of Blood 4K.

Probably the best Criterion month in years.
Altered States
History of Violence
The Shrouds
Twin Peaks
MAYBE Eyes Without a Face

Wasn't FWWM supposed to be November? Maybe they bumped it for the Series 4K

I think the original is more bleak than the remake, and the finale is much more disturbing IMO.
