I'm very excited about this release for "Paris, Texas." I also recall reading about Criterion having more Wim Wenders in the pipeline for the future, so I can only wait in anticipation for more, as well.

For Godard, from James Cameron:

"I believe that Godard got it exactly backwards. Cinema is not truth 24 times a second, it is lies 24 times a second. Actors are pretending to be people they're not, in situations and settings which are completely illusory. Day for night, dry for wet, Vancouver for New York, potato shavings for snow. The building is a thin-walled set, the sunlight is a xenon, and the traffic noise is supplied by the sound designers. It's all illusion, but the prize goes to those who make the fantasy the most real, the most visceral, the most involving."

2 different filmmakers though. Godard never makes a movie full of blue people in a CGI world, so if Godard thinks his films are truth and Cameron says they are lies, you can see why. Also you can go into Cameron's loss of storytelling, what has been the new thing it seems. It seems 3D>storytelling to people who think Avatar is the best thing ever.

If true, I would really like to see Until the End of the World on BD; it never even received a North American DVD release.

Well since it seems like Blu-ray's frontpage copied the list I was making (due to them missing the only one I was missing), I am happy to tell them the other sign for "Idlewild Home for Ladies" is for Make Way For Tomorrow.

Now hopefully Vivre sa Vie is coming to blu-ray.

I found that info about Wim Wenders again over at criterionforum.org... what's been mentioned is the ‘Road Movie Trilogy‘ featuring "Alice In The Cities," "Wrong Move," and "Kings Of The Road."

And is a quoted Facebook response from Criterion a while back... “we’re on a Wenders bender, and this isn’t the end of it”.

What about the Rome clue? Fingers crossed it's Roman Holiday but there is almost no chance in hell.

Does anybody know where I can buy the clear plastic cases Criterion uses?
I want to create cover art for Benjamin Button that fits in a clear case to replace the blue case.

So are these hints for films being released on Blu-Ray or what?

Andrzej Wajdas War Triology = Heck yeah.

Three of the signs on the post are referring to Roberto Rossellini's 'War Trilogy': "Rome Open City," "Paisan," and "Germany Year Zero," which is already announced for January 26th.

You would have to buy one of Criterion's other replacement cases, I would think, in order to do that. All of that information can be found in the first post of the first page of this thread. Also, remember that "The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button" is a 2-disc set and Criterion has yet to release a 2-disc clear case.

Thanks for another great review of "Che," pro-b. Can you confirm that the packaging for "Che" is similar to the packaging for "The Complete Monterey Pop Collection" set? Thanks.

The obvious blu-ray clues are colored blue in the illustration. The others, it seems, we can only take educated guesses on, but some are more likely to happen than others.

Sorry, but this is referring to Roberto Rossellini's 'War Trilogy' that's scheduled to come out on January 23rd.

I heard somewhere that Christopher Nolan's debut, Following, is getting a Criterion DVD. Is that true? Has a release date been announced?

Are you talking about DVD or Blu-ray?
Sorry, have to ask.
