Does anyone know where you can get it a bit cheaper?
I check Amazon.com just about every day to check on prices of movies I want. Once you click on a title to view it, it goes into your browsing history. It's an easy way to keep track of any changes. It also lists used copies for sale of that particular title. I waited patiently and actually picked up a "used-like new" copy of "The Third Man" for under $30. Patience is a virtue.

Check your local Barnes and Nobles..... many still have copies on the shelves.

I need to get another Criterion movie. Feel like it'd class up my collection a bit.

The thing is though, I've heard of almost none of the movies on Blu-Ray, and need some people to help me find something I'd like. Preferably something a bit lighter in tone and themes. I can enjoy "deeper" movies, but right now I've been more seeking escapism in film, rather than deep thought.

By the way, the only one I own is The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Man just read a couple of descriptions of that and it does sound pretty good. Is it on sale anywhere?

I don't think so. Best Buy I think has the cheapest at $29 people are saying. I bought mine on Criterion's website a month ago (pre-order).

Some Best Buys carry it for 29.99. I saw it at Borders today for 39.99, but with a coupon you can get it for under $30.

As Beta Man stated already, you might get lucky and find a random copy on the shelves of B&N or Borders. I found one last week at my local Borders.

Yojimbo/Sanjuro-- influenced many Westerns
Wages of Fear--white knuckler, plenty of tension
400 Blows--brutally honest look at mischief and adolescence

Can't go wrong with any of those. Very accessible films.

I think NE Ohio is out-of-stock on Third Man. I've checked BN and Borders around here. Plus, I don't think Joseph-Beth stocks Criterion Blu-rays (or even Blu-rays).

Is that for new price only or does that include used? I have bought several movies from Amazon using the "used" option of a title. If it's sold by a merchant with "Fullfillment by Amazon" in a rectangular box by the merchant's name I get it shipped free and almost always in two days. (Amazon Prime member). All products have been exactly as described by seller - most look basically new.

M Comparison

Boosted the blacks which some will like and some won't but obviously the same source that was used for the UK one earlier this year.

Unless I am still blind the Hunger review is still missing in the first post so get to it

Are they still shipping the replacement cases to Canada? Think I saw somebody in this thread mention they are no longer shipping them overseas but not sure if that just means the UK and stuff or all international shipping which would include Canada. Wasn't going to bother at one point but having every Criterion Blu-Ray just keeps expanding the number of good cases making those awful old ones look worse and worse next to them

Hope The Sword of Doom and some other non-Kurosawa Samurai films don't get overlooked. The story never got finished since it was supposed to be multiple parts that never got made which sucks but I still love The Sword of Doom.

Ah.. I found a copy of the The Third Man digipack with slipcover for $59.99 at the Amazon Marketplace, so I guess I will get that one tomorrow (If it's actually still there by then). Almost every seller, besides this one didn't have this version and had the plastic case. Another seller who I am not buying from told me this:
"It does not however the 1st printing cardboard case with the slipcover... many consumers felt let down with the original case, etc - it was soon replaced with a superior plastic case which are the one's I have."
Is this true? If so why? A plastic case makes it look cheap I would think and not superior to the other version?
