I'm starting to get pissed at my Criiterion purchases. I got Playtime, which stops playing about 20 minutes in, and then I tried to watch Kagemusha the other night and it stopped about half way through.

Thankfully I had no problems with Yojimbo/Sanjuro...

I have a lens cleaner and new hard drive for my PS3 coming in soon, so I'm hoping the restore to the new drive has an effect on the inability to play those two discs (those two...and Hulk 2003 for some reason)

I only used one coupon at a time so I went to several different stores several times each.

Last two sales I had a 25% off Coupon I kept using. The $5.00 off coupon I don't have much luck with on the 39.99 titles since the item has to be 20.00 or more. but if you can get a sales person to take the coupon that is good. I will try it. We should post under the HOT DEALS column for the sale which coupons yours sales people take, would be interested to hear.

I wiped out on the very first sale with the 25% off coupon esp the $124.99 box sets and the 79.99 Box sets (DVD of course)

Yes, but usually on separate purchases. Depending on your cashier, though, you might be able to use the $5 coupon on each movie in a single purchase. Everyone's experience won't be the same.

I watched Fantastic Planet last night (Double feature with the Double Life of Veronique ) and absolutely loved it..... I would buy a Blu-ray release of it for sure! I may wait to see if there is speculation, if not, I'm buying the DVD.

I can appreciate that some people really enjoy it and perhaps I will give it another chance some day, but I think the high regard many express for this movie sets unrealistic and disappointing expectations. In that regard positive comments and opinions can also be detrimental to a viewer's experience with this movie.

Glad you enjoyed it. It's a great movie. I have not seen it for a long time. I am like you, I think I will just order the DVD, I have not heard of a Blu-ray release for this.

It says the French release doesn't have subtitles..... is that correct????? I took 7 years of French, but don't think I could follow this one now without the subs.......
