JGL could pull off Riddler, but Joker would of been the obvious.(Though didn't Nolan said no recasting of the Joker?)

Wow, I sound geeky. Oh well, screw you all that hates Batman. Who doesn't like f'n Batman?
Nolan has pretty much laid down the law at this point and said "Look muthaf***as! NO JOKER IN BATMAN 3!"

My main concern of JGL playing Riddler is he's too young and looks very young. Granted, Legder was only 28 when he did The Dark Knight and died at that age, but he always looked, sounded, and acted much older. A very old soul trapped in a young leading man's body.

Tom Hardy is my main pick for a villain for Batman 3, like I said, go watch Bronson, it will convince you thoroughly. Michael Emerson for the longest time was my pick for Riddler, but it seems like young-ish is the name of the game in Nolan's Bat-verse. Christian Bale is only 36. Hell, Nolan himself isn't even 40!

I think Clooney has just about become this generation's Carey Grant, but I feel like Clooney has been so consistently goo this last decade, particularly post-Syriana, the film that he won his oscar for and pretty much proved to everyone how good he is and can be. I LOVED Michael Clayton.

Yea, that's how it worked for me too...and the Yojimbo/Sanjuro box was a complete steal at $27 or so! With each regular title at $14.04, who aould want to order from the online store and wait for shipping? I could see if there was not a location nearby, but I see a lot of folks on here claiming that the time from ordering to shipping being too long to bear!

Oh crap. Nolan isn't even 40? I never knew that. Well then again, I don't go check ages of guys out.

But I do agree that JGL looks so young. He looks my age (which is only 7 years younger than him, but still).

Have you seen the trailer for Clooney's new film The American. It's like the studio said, "Hey George. We want to make a movie with you in it. We will worry about all that stuff called a story after you agree!"

But I can't hate on the guy. He is a Kentucky boy! Clooney, Depp and I have to represent the good looking guys of Kentucky. Plus we got D.W. Griffith too, so watch out other states.

IDK I think The American will be awesome. I loved the director's last film "Control" so this looks like a really cool spy-thriller and drama. The book it's based on is pretty fantastic, so who knows. The first trailer for The American > the second trailer. It's much more of a character study than action film as the trailers are trying to sell it as.

I was just referring to it looks like a "vehicle" for Clooney to take over, and yes, I will watch it.

A long time ago all the old Bond films were on Criterion laserdisc. Nolan himself is actually slightly on topic since his debut film, Following will be getting a Criterion release soon as part of the IFC deal.

In terms of mainstream action, sci-fi, comic book, superhero, etc films on Criterion, like I said, Bond was on laserdisc years ago. There are some directors who have made said types of films who ended up in the CC.

Christopher Nolan - (made Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Following CC release coming soon)
Guillermo del Toro - (made Hellboy films, Cronos release coming soon)
Alfonso Cauron - (made Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Solo Con Tu Pareja on CC dvd, Y Tu Mama Tambien coming to CC soon)
David Fincher - (made Alien 3, Benjamin Button CC out there)
David Cronenberg - (made A History of Violence based on a graphic novel, Naked Lunch, Dead Ringers, and Videodrone CC dvds)

That's all I can think of.

Ah yes if definitely feels like the director and Focus Features had Clooney in mind. But this is a passion project for Anton Cjorbin, so who knows.

It does look good though. A Clooney featured movie isn't always a bad thing, Batman & Robin.

Bahaha that movie has become the go-to joke for everyone. It's sooooooooo bad that it almost transcends criticism because it kind of defies the rules of filmmaking at every turn.

All of these people had nothing to do with Levitt until his name started to get attention a couple years ago, now they act "cool" because they are now fans.
A lot of film geeks have had a "hard on" for Gordon-Levitt since he displayed that he's one of the best young working actors out there in "Mysterious Skin" and "Brick."

Yes, there have been some fanboys that got all excited when Nolan cast him in "Inception", and they thought for sure he would be replacing Ledger as the Joker in the next Batman flick.

But I think it's the guy's charisma and good looks that have gotten people onto his fan bandwagon lately. His performance in "500 Days of Summer" got more people interested in him than fanboy Joker rumors.

I think it's because everything bad happened all in one movie:

1. Mr. Freeze as your villain.

2. Arnold playing a scientist.

3. Suits with nipples.

4. Over use of one liners.

And alot more.

Mysterious Skin, Brick, and even the Lookout (somewhat) was all good.

I might misunderstood where these people caught on to JGL's career, but you have to excuse me on that, since I know no one outside the computer world that is a "film buff" like me. So all of the ones I know are on the internet, and therefore that is when I know an actor "is hot" and based that off when and why.
