Yeah, but they won't be for 50% off any time soon. For that title anyway.

Well New Yorker released it on video and since they are now defunct, don't know what happened to the films in their catalog. Now that I have a region free player I ordered Celine and Julie from the UK, so I can dump my tape!

I am extremely surprised, it's not like he's been quiet about his dislike of the Hollywood machine But like someone said, it could be more a sort of "political decision" then anything else. I sometime feel like things at the Oscars work by "you number is up, here is your award"

I'm loosely re-making "noiseuse" early next year, as photography instead of painting... But I'd LOVE to see it on Criterion....

Actually I rather enjoyed spoiling your fun. One of those days I guess.
Well...I guess we won't know until November then...

Hope springs eternal...but they might not even have a sale at all (though I feel that they will).

Any speculation at this point is kind of silly

Why is the blu-ray sticker on the left side? (are they calling Godard a lefty?) Also, I don't like the shrink wrap being used-- it's not tight enough!

Why can't they get the packaging right?!!?!

I'm curious to know what's down in the box behind the "Breathless" box.

Well, I went to Big Lots yesterday and DID NOT see of the $5 Godard sets that everybody seems to be finding. They had just the usual dvd's they usualy have for $3, did pickup the 2 DVD set of Hitchcock's Stangers On A Train for 3 bones, that will keep me happy til the blu gets released.

Without running upstairs to check..... I looks kinda like "The Secret of The Grain" spine...... but I'm not sure.... and I'm also not sure why they'd have a new box of those sitting in the same place as a title so far from release date.

We were talking specifcally about the BBS Story set and how it won't be available during the (theoretically) upcoming November B&N 50% off Criterion sale's timeframe.

deepdiscount wants over $100 for it right now.

50% off of $125 list would be around 63 bucks. Maybe some creative couponing and a hefty discount at B&N's website would get it close, but still will be a while before it's on sale at B&N for 50% off (and then whatever coupons you can add onto that).

Noticed that you apparently cannot find 3 Silent Classics by Josef Von Sternberg at any B&N store. (Website doesn't have a "Check store availability" button for it. Wonder if it's just a website error. Pretty good price on it at 40% off, though; throw in a 15% off coupon to bring it down to 42 bucks...)

Yeah, that was my first thought, too, but I also wondered why a box of "The Secret of the Grain" would be there?
