Oh crap guys! More Godard news!

What the heck is going on with Kino's site? Why do they have links to Godard's la Chinoise and le Gai Savoir?

Please tell me they got the rights to these for blu.

Too bad I don't have a CriterionForum account. Maybe one of those guys could get to the bottom of this. Oh well, too lazy to make an account.

They also got the new "Two in the Wave" doc

Thank you. Given the film's age, that's what I suspected.

Well the 250th Blu-Ray in my collection came in the mail and guess what? It's a Criterion of course! Black Narcissus to be exact.

A quick count (may be off 1 or 2) comes out to all 51 Blu-Ray Criterion that I own. So it's roughly 20% of all my Blu-Rays.

Kino merged with Koch Lorber a little while back. It's now Kino Lorber, so I guess that and many other titles have some potential of making it to blu someday. Hopefully they would take after the Kino blu-ray way of doing things, rather than some of the awfulness that was frequently found somewhere or other in the Lorber DVD lineage.

Oh, I remember that. I'm stupid. I should of known why they have the Lorber dvd images on the site. Thanks alot really. I would of went on thinking Kino has a problem with the site, or they just made a huge deal for Godard films.

But anyways, I hope Kino has plans to release those on blu though in the future, because I doubt Kino will give the rights to Criterion. Any 60's Godard is on Criterion's wishlist, so it would be a shame if Kino does nothing with these, letting them sit.

This is making me more impatient, I want this set NOW!

Also, I'm realizing that as much as I like the idea of the Monkees commentary on Head, I'd have really appreciated one by Rafelson as well, if only to learn about how the writing process for the movie actually worked.

Unfortunately, Zhang Yimou's new film has not been released here in Toronto. A real disappointment, given Toronto's importance in film distribution after New York and LA.

Sorry for being so late to your post, but - you are exactly correct. From Zhang's early work, I've seen To Live and Red Lantern. Two absolutely beautiful and devastating films. (I've been to Pingyao, the town where Lantern was filmed.) But hey, I'm left wondering whether the Beijing Opening Ceremonies will ever be released in Blu.

That's my mom's bush. Like you mentioned, though, it's in need of a serious trimming.
