I just finished streaming "Five Easy Pieces"...the NetFlix stream looked quite good.

I haven't seen this film in a very long time...I forgot how great a film it really is.

Based on what I saw tonight...this should look great in blu!

Well...that's 2 out of 3 of the BBS set that are streamable...I'll save The Last Picture Show for the weekend.

What? I don't get it. So your saying I was bashing you for being off-topic? I wasn't bashing anything off-topic. I am the king of off-topic. Where did you get that from that one sentence? Everything about that conversation was innocent. I was just seeing if you had Criterions in the order, which IS the reason why orders take forever. It had nothing to do with anything off-topic. I don't care if anybody finds anything off-topic. Off-topic away! It's just a forum.

You just answered my question though, non-Criterion or Kino orders will ship quick. Criterion and Kino orders take longer. That's all I was asking dude. Was trying to build up info as to why some deepdiscount orders ship faster. In no way was I messing with or bashing you for being off-topic. It was just a question.

How are you guys finding these movies at Best Buy before the release date? Is this a normal occurrence, and I've just been out of the loop? I thought it was just a freak thing, but the more I read on here, the more I see people finding early releases...

To get stuff from deepdiscount quickly, I think you have to order multiple items and they need to be in-stock. Every time I order one blu from them it takes about two weeks from the time they ship it. But this last order for 2 Kinos, I got quickly after the shipping date (like 3 business days if I remember correctly).

Or, more seriously, Wages of Fear, Bigger Than Life, Charade (9/21), Walkabout, Days of Heaven, as well as many others! You really can't go wrong, but those are pretty good starters.

Yea, same here. If you look at the pic of Charade I posted, you can see Crumb and Walkabout to its left. Even further down, they have Black Narcissus, Black Orpheus, The Red Shoes, Stagecoach, and maybe one more...can't remember.

Months ago, however, Wings of Desire, Ride With the Devil, A Christmas Tale, and Monsoon Wedding were in their correct alphabetized places...

This was one of my favorite movies of the 80s. I approached it as a fan of Japan, Sakamoto, and Bowie. But, I came to love it for its haunting themes - the strange attraction/repulsion between the Japanese and the British, their opposition yet similar cultures, expressed in the unrequited love of Yonoi for Celliers.

However, I've only ever seen it in 4:3 on a VHS I recorded from cable.

When I went to Best buy for my copy of Yojimbo I had no luck. I was about to leave when I found it and Sanjuro right where they belong - in the Blu-ray music section.
