About 95% of my slipcovers and similar things go in the trash can. Never understood their popularity, bordering on obsession among so many around these forums.

You actually make money from slipcovers? I wasn't even aware there were rare ones.

^ Most releases which come out with slipcovers only have slipcovers for a limited time... or rather, it's on the first few 'batches' which have them, so it does make them somewhat collectable. I quite like them myself, but it's mainly the Disney Classics/Pixar ones I put the most effort into collecting with slipcovers because I group them together on my shelf (granted, I get the steelbooks/ironpacks of them where I can, but a slipcover next to these looks way better than a normal case). And getting hold of say, Dumbo, Sleeping Beauty or Pinocchio in the UK with a slipcover is pretty damn hard, and they'll go for more when sold by sellers on Amazon and such.

Hey Oily...... The Cinematheque is playing "Let The Right One In" on the 29th...... I might have to convince the wife to see it (I have the BD, but she still hasn't seen it)

From the list of "Upcoming" films, there are several I'm familiar with, others I'm not......

Any "Must Sees" in this guys?

Is "Thundercrack!" really something I should see?????

I inserted it between the clear case and the back cover. So it matches all other Criterion back covers. There is a reason that is called "back cover insert"

Never understood why Criterion would do it differently for this release.

LE AMICHE is a Michelangelo Antonioni film. I clicked on your link and it says it's a new 35mm print. Sounds cool.

MY DARLING CLEMENTINE is a John Ford film.

Haven't seen AROUND A SMALL MOUNTAIN, but it's by Jacques Rivette.

Netflix just added "Kes" as a title available to Stream....... I'm guessing we might get a BD announcement for this in a day or two.

I hope we get some type of surprise title. We haven't got a surprise since the October releases was announced (The Magician). Everything in Nov and Dec we knew was coming. Now if Jan has a combo of Kes, Sweet Smell of Success, Broadcast News, a Chaplin, The Killing, the ATP festival titles, it would be the 3rd month.

Come on rumored Bunuel (TRISTANA) or Malle (ZAZIE DANS LE METRO, BLACK MOON).

I dunno, Jan-Feb always strike me as moderate output months compared to the Fall deluge. I think they would split them over the two months for 3-4 releases in January and 3-4 in February. I think the ramp-ups usually occur in March-June and October-December; the latter being the biggest push with a number of anticipated titles at once.

For anyone interested, here is the list of announced/strong rumored/newsletter films left to be announced:

FEAR & LOATHING
THE KILLING
KES
FISH TANK
FOLLOWING
STILL WALKING
SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS
BROADCAST NEWS
RED RIVER
THE FOUR FEATHERS
KISS ME DEADLY

NE CHANGE REIN (I would like to see this Costa film announced soon)
SOMETHING WILD
Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN

&
CHAPLIN FILMS

Everything else is rumored (re-releases, facebook answers from last year) or announced, but will take some time (Godard's WEEKEND, KWAIDAN).

I didn't mean all of those titles in Jan. Just a combo of some.

Totally random and no prior speculation has even hinted this, but I'd like to see Criterion release Fish Story. I've heard so many good things about this but no sign of it getting any kind of R1 release.

A quick, fun, one answer thing we could all do to wait for Friday:

What is the 1 Criterion film (no runner-ups) already in the collection that you want to see re-released on blu?

For me, Elevator to the Gallows

I don't have any doubts that will be announced in a year or 2 max. If it isn't, I don't know what Criterion thinks are making them money, but I have seen Brazil requested prob the most out of all the catalog titles (along with Kurosawa films). So you got a great chance at seeing your choice.

Anything by Wes Anderson. In fact, that Darjeeling transfer is a few days old already, I'm sure if they did it over, they could make it better. Let's start with that one.
