ahh.... where "idea" and "Hallucination" collide.

EDIT:

$24 each for Videodrome and Cronos...... errr.. I'm locked in on Amazon's $27.99 pre-order price, and I think I'll wait it out...... perhaps they'll get bundled into some other coupon code/black friday sale still..... but I want to make sure I get them on release date.

Wonder how long these prices will be in effect? It'll be a few weeks before I can afford any more.
I have everything I want, except America Lost & Found.

But it will be good for those still wanting to get their hands on CC Blus.
I didn't check to see if any DVD CCs were on sale.

I FINALLY convinced myself to buy The Seventh Seal. I think watching The Magician got me to thinking more about Bergman and even if it takes a while for me to fully embrace this film, for $14.06, it seemed a sin not to pick it up, ESPECIALLY for all the supplemental material on Bergman.

The "Dazed And Confused" 2-disc Criterion has a nice price of $9.99 right now on Amazon.

Amazon has a good Black Friday sale for some Criterion titles. I should have waited and ordered from them, still waiting on B&N packages with no tracking information to arrive.

Yojimbo/Sanjuro - $37.99
a lot of others less than $23

Any word if this is going out of print or getting released on Blu-ray?

I wonder if Amazon will play ball with BBS set tomorrow on its release. If they go down to $70 then I may cancel my BN/library order. I'm a bit concerned BN will pull some back-order non-sense on this set :/

Sort of an amusing little anectdote:

I work in a University library and one of our big projects right now is re-classing books from Dewey to LC. The most recent book I picked up is called "Jean-Luc Godard" by Collet. A neat little book featuring criticism and screenplay excerpts, etc. I was like, "Ooo! Godard!" as I'm prone to little bursts of joy when my private interests intersect with work.

I've only had time to flip through the book randomly, but I did enjoy the little quote from Godard:

"True cinema consists only in placing something before the camera. At the cinema, we do not think, we are thought. A poet calls this the takingness of things. That is, not man's taking of things but, rather, things taking, capturing man."

I like Godard.

No word of anything, I'm afraid, but for $9.99 it won't break anyone's bank account, I'd imagine.

Universal released it on HD-DVD, so I imagine they'll get to it eventually for blu-ray, as well... just without all the Criterion bells & whistles.

Dazed and Confused was part of the Universal 2011 announcement in early October. Amazon has it up for preorder but I don't think there's a release date yet.

It's kind of strange that in this post-B&N Criterion sale world, there is not one Black Friday deal that seems to appeal to me.
You guys have your Black Friday fun, but I'll just enjoy my thanksgiving, and enjoy my BBS set when I return home next week.

Those big cases are worth a pretty penny by themselves.

My gut tells me that they won't budge much less than their current $87.49...but ya never know...

I really wish Criterion would've helped with the RoboCop Blu-Ray. I'll gladly hang on to my LaserDisc and uncut DVD for the time being.

Also when do guys think the next Criterion sale is gonna be?
