He got quite an ensemble cast for The Last Movie as well! Many of his "friends" that were in Easy Rider and his later films. I visted LA years ago and I think I saw him (Mr. Hopper) at Venice Beach, no kidding, it sure looked like him!

He was prob my top person in Hollywood to meet. I wish I would of got the chance to.

But yeah, the cast is great. Dennis Hopper, Julie Adams (Creature From the Black Lagoon), Sylvia Miles (Paul Morrissey's Heat. Midnight Cowboy), Kris Kristofferson, Peter Fonda, Michelle Phillips (The Mamas & the Papas member. Married to Hopper for 8 days), Sam Fuller (if you don't know who he is, stay off this forum people). I know I'm forgetting someone.

If demands happened, this would be the Wes Anderson Collection, a series of not-so important, but widely influenced by "important films" films...... with Bill Murray. A company that will keep re-releasing re-releases of films by Wes Anderson, and also make releases filled with employees talking about Wes Anderson's future projects, with guests like the Wilson bros and Wes himself. Go inside CRIBS, where it's a whole hour with Wes Anderson's dog in a suit as he shows you around Anderson's home. But the fun doesn't stop there. We take you inside the process of watching a Wes Anderson film. We laugh, we cry. Order now and you will get a new "Wes Anderson is my homie" shirt.

I mean, the only reason I got an American Express credit card was because Wes Anderson made it look so good.

I actually rented The Ghost Writer from a redbox out of boredom not knowing he directed it.
The shorts are included with Knife In The Water.

Does anyone think that Rashomon will be released any time soon? I've been holding off on getting the DVD because this release seems inevitable...... If it's not the next Kurosawa BD i'm going to be seriously pissed!
I just hope they don't put it off for a while since they have released so many Kurosawa films on Blu already :/

I know a lot of people love Rashomon but if they do keep going to the Kurosawa well I would much rather see Throne of Blood and I would really like to see something samurai-free like High and Low or Drunken Angel

Yeah, it's been a great sale. I picked up an even dozen Criterions, used the online 25% coupons for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and This is Spinal Tap and even grabbed three pounds of Starbucks coffee for the price of two when I went to get The Night of the Hunter.

Really can't complain.

Oh, and since the $5 coupons and my trial membership will still be good when their 50% BBC sale starts in December I expect to get Sherlock Season One for $14ish.

This might sound weird but I doubt I have ever seen a Criterion movie, but I do want to pick one up in the near future on blu-ray. Do you guys have any suggestions?

My guess: we'll see it in 2011. It was recently restored and the print looks *fantastic*. We're in for a treat when it hits blue

I'd say calm down. It's a set of movies, not your first born child.
Impatient...yes. Surprised...no. Angry...far from it.

I think the early shipping got my hopes up about the possibility of getting it for the weekend.

Will I live...probably.

Thanks s00per! I wasn't aware of that.

I guess I should be pissed at UPS...I mean, what the hell?! What major carrier holds off on deliveries on one of the busiest shopping days of the year? And I thought Fedex was f***ed up for not delivering on Mondays.

I guess the only reliable carrier for the most part is USPS.

The only time that tends to change, is if UPS hands off the package to USPS, which they've been doing a lot of lately with me.

If that's the case this time, then Friday delivery might be possible.

God am I pathetic!

I wondered the same thing. But I decided to order the DVD anyway (along with a few others I liked). Criterion's releasing of catalogue titles on BD seems random, and I'm sure it all boils down to licensing issues, package redisigning, disc authoring, etc....

I figured that it's better to have the DVDs than to never have it at all (assuming it never comes out to BD; too hard to tell).
