No.... I meant "All of the ones I have received" (mostly from Amazon) "have had the sticker"

For the purpose of not looking like an idiot after the fact..... I'll say "Yeah! That's exactly what I meant"

I didn't realize they were putting them on shelves now without the stickers.... perhaps it's just a "First run" type of thing..... although someone said "Modern Times" didn't have one, I would suspect that title is recent enough to be still in the "First Run" stage.

Honestly, I tear the packaging off and toss it in the trash within minutes of receiving them, so I may have received some without the stickers and didn't notice (although I don't think so).

I'll speak on CCfixx's behalf, and say that was in fact what he meant.... because if CC were wrong, then I don't want to be right

At B&N I've seen beat-up digipak copies of Chungking Express and Marienbad without the stickers too, and those have been there forever. In addition to my copy of Modern Times, copies of Antichrist, The Red Shoes, and other newer titles didnt have them either.

I may be wrong about the shrinkwrap, but I wouldn't say the sticker is a definitive indicator. It seems rather inconsistent.

Nobody cares about the stickers intrinsically. There was a question on the legitimacy of some questionable items shipped through the mail a few pages back and the stickers were part of that discussion.

you hit the nail on the head, Beta Man - if i knew it was used and resealed, i would not have been as willing to pay the price i did.

i'm fairly sure it's not a bootleg - again, gut feeling and the best comparison i could do with those photos that people have been kind enough to link to - but i just don't understand why the shrinkwrap feels brittle.

yeah, i think that the blue sticker's presence is almost as erratic as the top sticker with the film's name. i've seen 'new' copies of 8 1/2 right next to each other, two with no top sticker and one with.

also, sometimes if a retailer places a sticker for a sale on top of the blue sticker, when the sale ends, the sticker comes off with it or otherwise gets damaged.

To each his own...DVDBeaver is giving the PQ and supplements to the CC BD version. Both sides get the AQ nod.

I don't mean to put him in the middle (my apologies in advance ), but since Pro-B reviewed both versions of the film, I'd like to see which one he gives the nod to, or is it a draw?
