I may start crying if I do. But at least I'm only aiming for blu's for the time being, so at least it's not toooooo bad

Veronique was a blind buy for me, so just because I tell you I wouldn't recommend blind buying the film.... doesn't mean I follow my own advice

I picked up the UK release of Veronique based on a review by Pro-B (or at least he recommended it via the UK sale's thread) and absolutely loved it, thus making my decision to spend the cash on the Criterion version for comparison purposes that much easier.... As far as the film itself, the UK version is great, but if you must have the "Best" version available, I don't think anyone would argue against that version being this current Criterion release (unlike other films that people are divided on).

The Fuller films are great.... but as I stated previously, I may be in the minority in the fact that I like Tarrantino, and now having seen these Fuller films, I realize Tarrantino OOZES Fuller.......

They're such a "mom and pop" type of close-knit group over there.... I would (if I were thinking of such a thing) email them, and ask for a price to buy the entire collection.... The hard part would be convincing them you're not buying for the sake or re-selling.

That "88" represents the upcoming ones I have pre-ordered too..... and it goes off of SKU or UPC or whatever you want to call it.... I don't know what they would all cost.... that's why I try not to get behind

A few years back (before blu ray) Amazon had a deal for the entire collection available at the time. Can't remember how much they were asking for it though.

lol I noticed the supply of "The Third Man" is rapidly shrinking online.

Is there any Criterion title that you gents would pay more than your "usual and customary" price for?

I saw that listing a few weeks ago. I wonder how many people actually bought the set. That is one heck of an order.

I really want The Third Man...but not sure if I want it for $75 :/

But, so far: I think I'd pay premium for The Thin Red Line. Absolutely love that film.

There is a seller on Ioffer, that is selling "The Third Man" and "Pierro Le Fou" together (plastic cases still sealed) for $132.00 if I remember right. If you have need.

Real or imaginary? If the latter I would easily pay $100 for The Passion of Joan of Arc on Blu-ray if it had an excellent (by my standards) transfer, with Voices of Light of course, though I wouldn't mind having the In the Nursery score on there either.

I was able to order Pierrot le fou through barnes for standard price (unless they cancel on me...)...so all I need is The Third Man, which I prefer to own as a Criterion. But we'll see what happens. Thanks for the help, though. My addiction is appreciative

I would love to see that release, although I don't know if I could justify $100 on it. I agree about the score...in fact, I have been listening to it this morning while I work. I just wish I could have seen it performed live with the film a few years back.

"Usual and customary" as it relates to your predetermined (if any) price line, as it relates to Criterion titles in or out of print.

Finally a decent question and topic worth replying to.

I would definitely say there are a few:

The Third Man
Seven Samurai
The Seventh Seal
Yojimbo
The Last Picture Show

Damn! Sould have jumped on it then!

Oh: and the seventh seal & the seven samurai would also force me to spend OOP prices. Fantastic movies.

That is a good list. Can't offer a compelling contrary opinion to it. Are there any Criterion DVD's or sets, that hold such value for you?

As to Blu-rays, in no particular order...

1) Third Man

2) M

3) Seventh Seal

4) Seven Samurai

5) Yojimbo

6) The 400 Blows

7) Modern Times
