For the peeps like me who try to collect all things Velvets, Sundazed has a pre-order up for a limited (1,000) RECORD STORE DAY 7" Single of Foggy Notion and I Can't Stand It. Nothing big for the everyday people but I thought there might be some VU fans here that likes to collect stuff, so here:

Still on the fence. I may give the 2-week trial a swing and see how it goes. But, as I said before, I sure do enjoy purchasing more than renting/streaming

I use my netflix for WAY more than just Criterion titles...... and I haven't looked into what Hulu offers, but I certainly don't plan on paying for two services.

I am on the fence as well. I am not a big fan of streaming. At the same time, they say some of their streaming will be for movies never seen before and or unavailable on dvd much less BD. Will have to give it more thought.

That is a significant list, though, and when someone upgrades to the Blu-ray option only to find come new release time that Netflix won't be stocking it on BD, it's frustrating.

How lovely would it have been for owners of the Artificial Eye release to get Criterion's The Double Life of Veronique Blu-ray for comparison before double-dipping?

As I noted earlier, it's not just Criterion titles. Netflix's BD option is a total waste of money unless you're primarily interested in current Hollywood blockbusters because you'll be forced to select DVD-only titles half the time otherwise. And of course the streaming option for Criterions will be going away before long.
I don't use Netflix. But, I can certainly understand people who don't want to pay for both services. I stopped Netflix once I found out that the BD selection was less than stellar, unless as you say, one is primarily interested in current supposed blockbusters.

Yeah, the free trial is a no-brainer if only to compare quality/usability.

Even if (and really, there's precious little if about it) I don't get around to cancelling in time eight bucks is pretty reasonable to try it for a month.

Which Elite do you have? I hope you're enjoying yours as much as I am!
My 42" 720p is about 6 years old and still kicking. Was great with my CC dvd's. It's perfect for the non 1080P directv viewed on it. I have an Elite 110 that I paid way too much for. But as you know, they are the best. BTW, I actually dumped Netflix a while ago for Blockbuster, which seems to have most CC releases in stock. Then again, I am in a major market, so they stock more. I am not familiar with their availability via streaming, might be something to look into. Amazon took care of me today and finally put Sweet Smell in my goldbox, so I grabbed it for $23.75 shipped for release day with my prime.

Its called HD. Blu-ray is a physical format. When you talk about a digital format its called HD.

Sounds like the same thing my TV just had. I had to get mine repaired and they had to replace the panel but after a few days i noticed two lines across the screen. They would only be visible depending on what the background was (they were really noticeable on How To Train Your Dragon and Predators). Turns out they installed a faulty panel and had to replace it. I think it had something to do with the pixels or something I'm just glad i got the extra insurance when i got the TV or these two repairs would have cost me $2000

I am wondering, like most, if ALL of the titles they will put up will become dvd/blu releases in the future. If they will be, I can't wait for Criterion to spill more new titles out on Hulu for us to get to know ahead of time.

Obviously, the Chaplins are likely, so some definitely will.
Well they better release I Was a Teenage Zombie, The Plumber, and The Spy In Black atleast.

Got the Curious Case of Benjamin Button today but was disapointed with it being in a regular blu ray case and not a typical criterion case.
