Stating the comparison pics are up should suffice, as everyone knows where to find it.... We don't want to feed traffic to another review site, which makes sense I guess.

Blow Out looks fantastic from what I can tell.... very excited.

So, I stopped hanging out over there because they were making such a big stink about it. It just seems silly to me. It's like school kids being stingy with their toys. If the sites had confidence in their own content and reviews, then I don't see the problem in trying to direct people to differing opinions that are out there on the internet.
I hear you, this is supposed to be fun and also informative. We all share info, and all of these sites are known. I am really angry over it and to be honest if it weren't for the regulars etc who are on this site as much as we are. (We do have lives haha) This site wouldn't be what it is today. Now I just feel like a hooker whose pimp told him to not sell on the other corner haha.

There are already two titles that are known to be getting blu-ray upgrades in July. That information can already be seen in the description for the titles on Criterion's site... the key is finding the DVD-only titles that now say "uncompressed audio" or something to that effect.
I searched all of criterion.com for "uncompressed", "uncompressed audio" and "blu-ray edition" using advanced Google search but got nothing but the known titles. Might be soon for Google to find if those pages haven't been "crawled" or whatever they call lit.

Criterion's twitter is up again.

They posted these COLOR images of Chaplin:

HDD certainly cracked down, but now don't seem to care anymore.
maybe more people will come back to that site, as that move really pissed off a lot of people.
With HDD 80% of the review links I used to post were for titles HDD was never going to review anyway, so the fact that it bothered IB was pretty absurd.
IB doesn't own HDD anymore, so that's good news as far as I'm concerned.
as far as posting review links I don't get the big deal either, but I have avoided it on here because I just didn't want to deal with any possible blow back.
Can't all these sites just get along?

I know people will be very happy about the second link. Don't click on the links if you do not want to know, but here are the 2:

There may be a safe bet on another Kubrick too.

Nice pics...but those have got to be tinted. I don't think there was color photography back in 1917?

Colour was around from the mid 19th century.

If your theory pans out, then one of those choices will certainly make a lot of people very happy.

I would heavily bet on another Kubrick...and who knows...maybe even another Chaplin if they're feeling generous.

I wouldn't say they're a "theory" anymore, rkish, since one of those titles indicates "DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack on the Blu-ray edition" and the other indicates "5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio". I would say those are definite blu-ray upgrades for July.

Those 2 are definite releases today. Like I said, a Kubrick and possibly a Chaplin seem to be good bets also, but as usual, no guarantees....

Yeah CC...I noticed that as well. Even though they are shown in DVD cases.

Rich, obviously they post the new cover art pics after the announcements come out. Strangely, they seem to update the content specifics the day before on the upgrades. Seems like Criterion wants people to find out early on some, but is being coy about it.

Maybe they don't know they have some spies on the bluray forums. I still don't know how to find them other than clicking on each individual title. Even a search for "uncompressed" brought me only the titles with mono sound that have already been released.

Oh I figured that...but stupidly thought that the audio specs might be a mistake/wishful thinking.
