Not to mention:
C) The trade is converted directly into Amazon credit, thus cutting out the middleman ,
and
D) Criterions are always insanely expensive, and thus always have good trade-in values. Not always so much with others.

If I can order High and Low as well I will get that but I already have it ordered through AMZ

My borders has Criterion but they are DVD's. I laughed at their selection but did use the coupon on The Hustler Digibook. And of course you can't use the coupon online for Criterion or at least on Videodrome because I tried.

A "RoboCop" Re-release from Criterion would be soo great but i don't think this will ever happen (same goes for the John Woo flicks...)

I probably won't order because of high shipping costs to Germany and Import Duties, but my wishlist:

- The Battle of Algiers (if available)
- Fish Tank
- The Great Dictator
- Insignificance (maybe)
- Life During Wartime (if available)
- Modern Times
- Wings of Desire

My high priorities are (in a rough order)
The Great Dictator
Fat Girl
Beauty and the Beast

I would like to pick up 8 or 10 other titles, if I can.

Also, inspired by the discussion yesterday I finally watched Topsy-Turvy last night, and I thought it was absolutely wonderful. I can't wait to watch it again. Anytime you can combine a great screenplay with a cast that is great from top to bottom and a great story I am sold. I am actually surprised it wasn't nominated for more Oscars.

I remember you mentioning the Fantomas collection some while ago, did you ever got the DVD?

I'm being conservative:

I want Pierrot Le fou and Night of the Hunter. I already pre-ordered Naked, from amazon.ca, and I just bought LOTR EE, and I'm getting a Nook Color brought back for me by mom, and she wants me to pay her back for it.

Barnes and Noble is running a buy 2 get 1 free sale right now. I just picked up Black Moon, Zazie Dans Le Metro, and Au Revoir Les Enfants with free express shipping for $69. Don't have to wait for the sale to get most of the titles. Maybe pay a few dollars more, but if you don't want to wait. Good deal.

Default Barnes & Noble international orders

Does anyone have experience with international orders from Barnes & Noble?
Are they reliable?
I'm used to Amazon and have had pretty good deliveries from them, but obviously now is the time to be looking into B&N.

I'm interested in this answer too, since I'm ordering from Canada.

All I can share with you is that I usually have no problem with them sending it to Montreal. It's not fast but I get my orders

Good to know, I'll be shipping to the middle of nowhere Nova Scotia. I ship everything I order to my parents' place, rather than to my own in HRM.

I'm on the fence on quite a few this B&N sale.

I've seen the following in the theater many many years ago; Something Wild, and Blow Out. I remember liking Something Wild, but I don't remember what I thought about Blow Out. I can't remember if I saw Broadcast News or not in the theater.

I've watched the youtube clips for White Material, Insignificance , and The Times of Harvey Milk. I pretty sure I'm going to like White Material and The Times of Harvey Milk, but I'm not sure about Insignificance .

However none of the youtube clips really shouted out "BUY ME" like when I watched the clips for Sweet Smell of Success, The Double Life of Veronique, Fish Tank, The Thin Red Line and Summer Hours. After watching those clips I said to myself, "I've gotta have those"

My experience to Europe:

45 to 60 days in transit
Horrible CS
Also had a couple of titles cancelled by them

Other than this, never had a problem getting my discs. I do everything to save a buck.

Generally they tend to have a pretty good selection of Criterions in-store, although they get picked over when there is a coupon like this.
Borders isn't carrying Criterions in-store much at all anymore, at least as far as blu-ray goes. I went to two different locations yesterday and I only found a couple titles that had been sitting there for a year or two, as they were still the old cardboard sleeve cases. If you go on to their computers in the store and look up Criterion on blu-ray, the vast majority of them are listed as "Not available in stores." It's a shame. I used to buy quite of few them a few years back on DVD.

For 50% off it might be worth the risk/hassle...

Out of all those, in my opinion, Blow Out, Sweet Smell of Success, Fish Tank, and The Thin Red Line are gotta have those movies. White Material, Broadcast News and Summer Hours are should have movies.
