Clearly, Pro B ordered it just to look cool and has no intention of watching it.

Between these three, which one is the best choice? (I will get one of this before the sale ends but I can only afford one more film ):

- The Double Life of Veronique
- Leon Morin, Priest
- High and Low

I just watched both Leon Morin and High and Low, they're both terrific movies, but in very different ways.

But the Kurosawa film is a stronger film, altogether.

Haven't seen Double Life since it was in theaters, I liked it but not enough to watch it again on video since then.

You will have to top this:

Which reminds me, I picked up Leon Morin, Priest yesterday at B&N. Looking forward to watching it.
[Show spoiler]Oops! Just found out Leon Morin is not a sequel to the Blues Brothers. Guess I will watch it anyway.

Too bad. I got an email last night around 8 saying it had shipped. I may order from them again, because some stuff came early with no damages. I think most of my issue is Canada post, because, despite what they say, my mail is still delayed. I still don't have my American library association membership renewal info, and I renewed month ago.

BTW Something Wild was a pretty fantastic blind buy.

Still haven't received my package with my movies. Will never order from B&N's website again.

Do you guys failing to get your movies all live in Canada? It really might be a border/customs issue moreso than a Barnes and Noble issue. You said "mail is flowing", but is that mail packages coming across the border?

I was actually highly impressed with their shipping speed (using express shipping from my membership). I did quite a few "single disc" orders as well in order to use coupon codes, all my separate packages arrived within 2 or 3 days from the time I placed my order. Even my Pierrot Le Fou which is OOP, showed an original shipping date of August 13th causing me to question if they even had any stock left, yet it arrived a few days ago.

I've received mail from France and the UK in only a few days.

Eventually, yes, of course! But I don't know when that will be. I've seen the movie quite a few times so I'm not in a hurry to buy it at more than 25$ or so.

Ordered another 10 Criterion Blu's today from B & N, mkaing my total 16 this sale. I swore I'd never bother updating half my Criterion DVD's but was just too tempting

Regarding delivery times, always takes about 1-2 months for B & N to deliver to the UK - at least when I order it does!

Yup, shit's insane! Considering most U.S packages take 4-5 days from the U.S!
It's been nover 10 days for my first shipment of 6 and still nothing and that was with EXPRESS postage - not even the bloody standard one!

I know you didn't request the following, but if you don't have go for Wim Wenders' 'Wings of Desire' or Chaplin's 'Modern Times' if you don't own. It's a tough call from that list as there are some really different experiences on there so hard to play one off against another.

I know there are a lot of recommendations for 'Days of Heaven' and while it's shot beautifully, I found, and still find, it to be less enthralling than some of the other titles on the list. Don't get me wrong I like Malick but I think sometimes (always!?) his visual lyricism can be too intrusive.

Maybe B&N just sucks at international orders regardless of where it's going.

Can't complain about the speed inside the U.S., though their packaging isn't exactly the best. (someone else described it as "cardboard ravioli", which is both hilarious and a pretty accurate description)
