Some regional stores... Newbury Comics, FYE, Fry's, J&R, and I'm sure a lot of smaller niche shops.

My local Best Buys actually have a decent stock of Criterion BDs. Unfortunately they charge too much so I never buy Criterions there.

Usually priced at $29.99

I remember that waterloo records in Austin, TX had a pretty big criterion collection when I was there last several years ago.

The uptown Minneapolis cheapo had like every criterion dvd (that wasn oop) the last time I checked...

That movie is more relevant now then it was in 39'. America needs a lot of Mr Smith's right now. Also everyone will call it corny, but Arsenic and Old Lace cracks me up. More specifically Peter Lorre and Raymond Massey's characters.

And Cary Grant after the killings: "This is developing into a very bad habit!"

Sell? Sell OOP Criterions? Sell???

You can have my OOP Criterions when you pry them from my cold, dead fingers.

It's probably the least corny of his movies and it holds up extremely well. I'm not sure which is more surprising - that it hasn't been released yet or that it's not plastered all over cable every Halloween.

Fortunately, the last DVD was pretty good.

It's amazing how much arguing there is on Criterion's facebook posts about Polanski. Wow.

I saw that, they are really bashing on him. I think he doesn't deserve it.

He absolutely doesn't deserve it. I love his movies. If that makes me pro-rape, then so be it.

He doesn't deserve what? Criticism?

Sure, the moralizing can get a bit thick but the guy did drug and have sex with a twelve year old. A hit to ones reputation seems only reasonable, no?

I love Polanski's work. Maybe he'd have a lot less detractors if he, you know, didn't run. I definitely don't agree with what he did, but that's why you've gotta seperate the art from the man. Victor Salva is harder to apply that to, though. I'm sure you guys are aware of his depravity.
