Having never bought anything during a B&N sale before, I have a question. There are a few titles that are $21-23 right now on Amazon.com. Should I just order these right now, or will the price be any lower during the sale? Anyone know B&N Canadian shipping rates?

Maybe it was just a big Traffic fanboy, because I never have my posts deleted (just changed a bit). So if I don't get posts deleted, something prob just went wrong with it or like I said, someone's fav movie was bashed.

Looks like my nearest B&N is going to be one of the (first?) victims of their music/video departments being closed. Wednesday is the last day for it. After that it's going to be toys. Nothing but toys.

And obviously no in store Criterion sale.

Couldn't get specific info regarding which stores, but got the impression that most of them would be going away in my area.

3.99 per order, with 1.99 per item. So a single item would cost 5.98 to ship to Canada. Cheaper than Amazon, but it takes awhile for it to show up.

Also, when did Amazon get an influx of Pierrot Le Fou titles? They're now the ones selling them for 19.99, rather than a marketplacer seller. It's a fine deal for an OOP title, but I'm just wondering how OOP it is now with all these copies croping up.

Thanks, yeah seems like a much better deal considering I checked that an Amazon order was going to be like $30 for shipping or more, plus the stupid $8 import fee.

Can't wait to pick up Carlos and Fanny and Alexander for ~$20 a piece (with membership and coupon) great price

Also hope to get lucky to use the $8 off a $40 or more blu ray coupon on some of the $20 titles. My store is usually pretty lenient when it comes to those coupons. This could be a fun sale

For the sake of clarity and to remove superfluous clutter I've created a BN 50% off thread.

Please post anything BN Sale related here:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/movie-tv-d...1-21-11-a.html

Cheers.

And so it begins.....

Thanks Shell, as I still doubt that comments will not be posted here anyway, but the thought counts. That thread will have 10+ pages before the sale even starts....

Brutal review for Daze & Confuse, I think it's the first time I see a Criterion movie with a 3?

Well, that's just pro-b's opinion of the film. It has nothing to do with the technical merits of the disc. We all have differing opinions of films, right? I'm not gonna dislike Tideland just because pro-b didn't find anything enjoyable about it. That's just silly.

Oh don't missunderstand, was not making a call on Pro-B review, I think his reviews are always fair. I was just surprise to see a 3.0 for a Criterion. I guess I came to expect that it would always be 4.0 or more

The movie itself, I enjoy it even if I only seen it maybe 3 times. I am wondering if I should be getting it during the sale, the only thing stopping me is how often would I acually be waching it.

If Pro-B gave Salo a "1" it wouldn't prevent CCfixx and I from holding hands in the dark, watching it while eating chocolate-turtle-truffles.

EDIT:

The 4.0 for the PQ is more concerning than anything the film could have received for the movie itself....

Not that 4.0 is "Bad" you just hope for near-reference quality every time

On another note,

I sent them an email because I had a case show up that was crushed, and wouldn't close (it was so bad the booklet inside would fall out!!!)

Amazingly, the booklet, disc, artwork, etc. were fine.

They sent me 4 replacement cases

I have a couple of other ones that are cracked, but nothing I would have complained about...... Now I have extras for future disasters I guess!

I thought about this, as someone was asking about those who put Benny-Buttons in a clear case, and I don't see the point in that.... the case it's in works just fine

I think some folks are just picky about their displays. Some are picky with their collections being uniform with each other. Ben Button, sticks out like a sore thumb to some, but like you said, it works for me.

Planet Axel haven't even shipped Kuroneko yet and it comes out tomorrow. Sad thing since their fees are mighty expensive and I wouldn't have ordered from them if it wasn't for the hope of getting it early.

I received Kuroneko from Planet Axel last Tuesday (11th).

Also, I received Island of Lost Souls from them on Saturday.

They're probably waiting until they get Zombie in stock to ship both at the same time, even though they now charge an extra 3 bucks to supposedly ship every item at the earliest possible.
