I'm still holding out hope for the full director's cut of Until The End Of The World.

I don't see why we all don't deserve to pick a few free movies from their closet. The amount of money I have given Criterion in my young years, is, well, it's a lot.

Entertainment Weekly does that. Whenever they talk about a new release they say "now on DVD and Download" No mention of Blu ray.

I watched The Thin Red Line last night. Easily the best looking blu-ray I now own. The sound is no slouch either but the best part is the film itself. It's an entire allegory on human conflict and the complete waste that it is. I was floored by it. Thanks to all who recommended it.

The Tree of Life's quality is right up there with Thin Red Line, if not a little bit better.

I could almost see it happening esp for April titles and have it released the same day as Chinatown April 3rd... however I can see them doing it as a Fall release too... I would rather have it in April though

kind of expected a Criterion cover art clue for this months announcements by now..

I kind of wonder if Rosemary's Baby would be a Fall release for Halloween.

Criterion should have another poll where the viewers get to vote on which movie gets released/upgraded next, like they did with Howard's End. That way I can vote for Andrei Rublev 42,000 times.

EW tries hard to be mainstream. Whenever there is an article about something like Star Wars or Comic Con, they always have to throw in words like "nerd" or "fanboy." They probably consider Blu-ray too niche/nerdy for the reader who might pick up the magazine at the supermarket and just wants to read about the latest "Twilight."

Anyone know what the story is with the Late Ozu Eclipse set? I ordered it in November, and since then it keeps being delayed by a week or so, only to be delayed again, and again, and....

I doubt it's going out of print but what's the alternative? There's been overwhelming interest in that set recently?

I think that B&N sales clean them up of the set. The Eclipse sets were very popular as more and more people are finding out what wonderful movies are in them. Probably B&N is having problems securing more sets to go with the sales made.

So far, the only confirmed titles are The Gold Rush and the Hollis Frampton Set . I hope for another Eclipse set and maybe, just maybe, an announcement of my oh so desired, Taste of Cherry and The Cranes are Flying !
