Honestly I still get carded as if I'm 16. So I guess people think I'm older on here, but think I'm under age when I'm out.

Is he still with us?
I have had a couple posts deleted too (so way above). How do you check post count?

This thread has lost a heck of a lot of pages over the past two days.

Edit: Maybe it's a ploy to get us to stop bickering with each other, making lists, and *****ing about Criterion.

We need to start talking about Criterion titles now, or we're going to be exterminated and sent to gulags!
I may have answered my own question...Joe is listed down at 135 posts...WOW...he was clocking in at around 1600 + posts. I'm beginning to think the server was either hacked into and/or their database crashed and they lost a section of more recent posts, but not brand new posts.

Joe (in the old days) was a light poster and actually disappeared for a period of time. He came back within the last 6-12 months and posted up a storm, very quickly passing me on the posts list.

"JOE...KNOCK TWICE IF YOU HEAR US AND ONCE IF YOU DON'T!!!"

Then again, I could purchase non-Criterion releases of Fassbinder, but I'll try to refrain from speaking such things in this forum

Thanks again, Spiderbaby. I'll wait patiently for the re-release.
Good thing when he was alive he made movies nonstop.

I would recommend buying non-Criterion Fassbinder films because they won't be getting them all. Despair was just released on blu-ray by Olive Films.

What? Are you serious? How can people not know who Ike is? I'm Canadian, and know about Ike as both president and his WWII military career!

Spidey...if you go to the main page for the "Blu-ray Movies - North America", look for the link for the Criterion thread. Next to the "Last Post" column to the right of the link is a column called "Replies". Click on the number link (in the case of this thread, it's around 47,000) and it will pop up a new window listing posters and numbers from most to least...YOU'RE THE KING!

I watched the Olive Films BD of this last night, and it's a great disc. Highly recommended.

I'll confess my extreme ignorance and admit to not knowing who Diefenbaker is, other than being Constable Fraser's wolf on Due South. Kudos to knowing who Ike is. That's rare for a lot of americans your age.

I'm only ever carded when I go to the States, yet when I was doing my MLIS back in 2008, people thought I was 30, about 7 years older than I was at the time, "because I didn't act like a 23 year old, and knew all this "old" stuff." So I'm just as guilty as my peers for judging you based on your knowledge. My apologies.

Click on your user name, it will tell you on your stats how many posts you have.

I'm not, I'm just expressing outrage. I had a jerk of a roommate who had never heard of Bob Dylan or the Beatles, and there's a guy I know twice my age who has never heard of Pete Seeger.

I haven't had a chance to see the film yet, but I did have to read the novel in grade 8 for "Titanic month" in English class, and we had to pick one of the passengers and do a character sketch of them. I picked an Irish gal names Katie something, and wrote about how she made her dress from old curtains (and no I didn't even think about The Sound of Music when I wrote that, as at age 13 I was in my "too cool for classic musicals phase."). Does the film anyways resemble the novel?

Those numbers must be wrong. I'm at 1329 posts and I haven't been here that long compared to some of the other regulars.

I would have guessed more than 482 for myself. As for A Night to Remember, it is one that I am definitely interested in, but haven't seen. I don't know if you have seen this, but here is the beaver's thoughts on the release:

Most of my fellow Canadians only know the name from Due South as well, so don't feel bad. There are people my age who don't even know who the CURRENT PM is, which is especially scary.

I honestly never understood why they named the wolf Diefenbaker, since Diefenbaker was possibly one of the worst PMs after Mulroney and our current one. They could have picked many other interesting PMs, such as William Lyon Mackenzie King, who used to talk to his dead mother for political advice.

Back to the Criterion stuff...they just posted this image on their fb page:

I am sort of betting this is going to be The Gold Rush, which they basically said was going to be announced last month and then got delayed.
